The news said 30 feet also. I know that area and its alot of swamp land. I could see being 30' to look over the thick vegetation. I doubt it was a climber going up that high. Hard to find a tree to climb that height.

This could be my inexperience talking but he was probably on that ridge on a windy day smelling around for does. He was hunting with his nose looking for females.

I just got home a little bit ago, this morning went to the stand where I have a trail cam set up. I have not had a chance to look at the pics in the morning so I took a chance and sat the morning shift. Had 3 does come by and walk right under me. Had a real nice buck come out sniff the trail nippled a little bit then went back in the thick stuff for the day. He was about 40 yards away and just didnt feel comfortable with the shot so I let him walk. More does for the night shift and I have that buck on my mind. Would be my first with the bow.

Wear alot of orange and got to some thick cover or travel lane and wait for the other yahoo's to push them to ya.

Thanks for the pick me up guys. I checked out the land on Monday afternoon and saw alot of rubs on small trees working the edge between creek and hardwoods. I also know where the does are bedding so I put myself between these 2 spots. Not going afield till Fri or Sat. Thanks again all.

Its only 20 acres and I dont think Im over hunting it and am the only one back there. I just broke down last week and bought a trail cam. I hunted the property this morning and on the way out looked at the cam and there was only 11 pics. I did not check what was on them just left it along till mid week Im going to hit it again. Thanks

I have been out hunting the property i have been for the past couple of years and only seeing does and fawns. Im not even seeing them while i sit its only on the walk in or out. NO BUCKS. I see a couple small rubs and one time seen a scrape. I have moved tree stands twice so far and have been in the woods 6 times so far. I am this close to take up duck hunting if this keeps up. What should I do guys, go hunt a different set of woods and maybee my luck will change or what. I hate moving stands like this during season but these deer (if any) are staying a step ahead of me.

Good Luck, sometimes duck hunters can be a shifty bunch. They do there scouting and come season start there lips are sealed.

Silly question but I finally bought a trail cam ,sick of hunting deer lanes and not knowing which stand to hunt. How High off the ground should I mount this thing? Thanks

Your in Holly have I hear of some slobs in the Elma Muck fields also, I remember riding my sled and kicked up a couple one time.

That Alabama swamp hunting is real hunting, the deer are huge and dark and from what I hear not fun dragging them out of the muck. Great Job guys.

I live in Lancaster and the only deer I have seen like that were in como park nice buck. Depew gave lancaster a whooping on friday though not pretty.

Im torn will wake up then make the call. I gave up my hocky tickets some time back cause I wanted a good night sleep before the opener. Now this weather has that screwed. Oh well sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield.

Thanks for the tips guys I do carry a Tinks spray bottle scent cover in the truck and the baking powder is the first I have heard that will consider that also.
