  1. In for the evening sit. 34 degrees feels like 27. 8 mph winds. In a box with heat and my sidekick. Looking for a big ol girl to take home Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Usually when I can only do a half day hunt it’s a morning hunt because I have something going on in the evening. I could have hunted this morning but yesterday was really busy so I decided to sleep in (made it to 6:45am lol). Sightings have been so low that I should just lounge around the house all day and get things done here but a bonus to the afternoon hunt is I’ll have my daughter with me for company. 3. Doing something I dont think I’ve never done before. I slept in and did not go out into the woods but instead I’m going to do the afternoon hunt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Oh for sure. I hunted with a smooth bore for a few years before I got the rifled barrel and now the rifle. Just never seen someone hunt deer with a SxS. For the record. I love it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Slugs out of a side by side? I don’t believe I’ve ever seen that before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I get what your saying and yes I’m sure plenty of people would go from taking only 1 deer to taking 3 or 4 or more with more time. Personally I’d take the same I always do 1-2 deer. It’s all I need for the year. I’d just like more time to be in the woods hunting. Maybe I wouldn’t feel so anxious to be out there in bad weather if I knew I had more time. 7. Why are so many against longer hunting seasons? Maybe I am crazy but the longer the season means the longer I can do something that I enjoy. Do I need to golf from April - September.... No.... But do I want to.... Yes
  8. Monday and Tuesday do me no good! I want the number to your superior!!!!
  9. I've heard of a different "blue magic" but I haven't tried that version yet either.
  10. Does anyone know what the DEC does with the deer in cases like this? Does it at least get donated to a food shelter?
  11. What a Flex!!!!! One day when I grow up I want to be just like 2 buck Larry
  12. Welp, we went a little overboard this year. Pick out a huge gnarly tree this year. Dang thing takes over the living room but man is it awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The Queen’s birthday dinner. @crappyice inner loins. One pan seared in salt, pepper, garlic and butter the other grilled both topped with sautéed onions and served with a side of Parmesan ranch potatoes and French cut green beans. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Nah, I got you slated for success. Unfortunately not until the muzzleloader season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'll honest here..... Even I have lost hope for you
  16. I pull them the same day or the next day at the latest. They will either get eaten that day or be put into a zip lock bag to be saved in the fridge for when we can have them for dinner but never frozen. I'll cook them in the cast iron pan with salt, pepper, garlic, onions and mushrooms to medium rare and I've never had them be anything but tender. I'm cooking Saturday's spike buck tonight and the loins where pulled Sunday late afternoon.
  17. Awesome news! I wasn't expecting any sort of update until late December or January anyways. I figured you where plenty busy prepping the new ones taken in. I can't wait to see it on the famous red barn wall!
  18. I guess I wont be shooting a wall hanger during the muzzleloader season....
  19. Will you at least let them see each other for the holidays? LOL
  20. Awe, It was so nice of y'all to keep them together in eternity.
  21. Happy Birthday. I hope you snuck out for a hunt
  22. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…. I just can’t with you….. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I agree with you. I try to go just behind the shoulder through the ribs if possible. My spike on Saturday was quartering away a little more than I thought, hit ribs on the entry but shoulder on the exit. I'll lose a good portion on the shoulder due to damage. End of the day some lost meat is better than no meat at all and if that means hitting both shoulders then what else are you going to do. Not every situation is ideal.
  24. Your golden then. Enjoy the tasty meat that was made
  25. I'll save the experts the effort... I am not now OK nor will I ever be OK, Lol.
