Uggggg. Had all that and more. I don’t think I’ve ever struggled like that before. Probably made it more frustrating that I was also learning the ways of a muzzleloader at the same time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What a nightmare it was yesterday shooting the muzzleloader for the first time. Surprisingly the gun wasn’t very dirty but I still did a complete clean of it before using it. Started the day with 2 mis fires. Only the primer went off. First 2 shots not even on paper at 100 yards even though the gun was supposedly sighted in before. Pulled the breech plug and looked down the barrel at the target and the scope. Looked to be about 6 inches low. Made the adjustment to the scope and still not on paper. Put a target up at 25 yards and I’m still over 12” low. Shoot 2 more times at 25 yards and now I’m close. Shoot 2 times at 100 yards and I’m 7” high WTF! Make the adjustment to the scope and shoot again. This time perfect elevation at 100 yards 1.5” right. Load up one more round and 1” left perfect elevation again. I totaled 13 shots, disassembled and reassembled the gun numerous times learned a ton about muzzleloading from the guys that where there to help. So the day wasn’t a complete disaster but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t frustrated towards the end. To top the evening off I pulled out the 30-.06 to check zero and the scope is off again. 100 yards no shots on paper. This is the third time the cheap scope lost zero from season to season. I’m ordering a vortex to put on it before shooting it again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Considering I can hunt tomorrow morning I’m really really not close! Also not close for bow either. Peep site is still off the bow. I wanted to do some paper tuning but that won’t happen. All the gear is still is the storage totes. I’ve only shot about 8 arrows but at least those 8 where solid Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree but I over think things. This is how my brain works. Maybe I’ll get this book … But this book was recommend back on page 2…. But this book was recommend more….. but then this book looks better….. this ones at my local library that’s a bonus…. Oh but what about that one back on page 2…. Then I quit looking and give up without getting a book. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How do you guys go about selecting a book to read. I feel like that is my biggest struggle. I'll look forever online at books I can get from the local library but never settle in on one.

While I love camping, just got done with a 5 day trip in fact. I would definitely take a trip to Greece over camping. Miami eh, was there once not really my vacation spot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Awesome. Glad it got passed. Erie was probably the county in WNY that faced the biggest challenge Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I assume 4H never comes up for that second round of tags? If it does I’ll put in for it. I got more tags for my area than I can handle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I figured I’d keep rolling on this thread instead of making a new one. I pick up ten 2x4x8 pressure treated boards to build a railing around the porch for safety and for a shooting rail. I prepped the posts tonight and will install over the weekend. Each post is 2 pieces. 1 longer than the other so I can screw it into the side of the blind. I hope my idea works. 150k on an 02!? Shoot that’s good. My 13 had 166k when I traded it in in January. A always liked the look of the avalanche. I know a lot of people that it was cheesy but not me. Congrats on the buy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Be prepared for a ton of mosquitoes. I was just there camping and it was the worst I’ve ever seen it in 20 years going there. We sprayed ourselves and had thermocells going all the time and still got bit up like crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also I’ll add as they get older hopefully they have a love of the outdoors. My oldest girl loves being in the woods and at my camp. It’s become a really good reason to spend time in the woods. Dare I say I’m more into hunting now than I was before she got interested. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
