Gator is very good blackened as well. Just needs to be tenderized and cooked correctly. Deep fried is great, as is Etouffee.

Going to be all High Fence.
WNYBuckHunter replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in General Chit Chat
Ive seen shows filmed in NY before. Not as many as in the midwest or southwest though. Lots of people just like to hunt in different areas, and NY does offer a different deer hunting experience than many other places. Its better here than many places, but not as good as others. I have to agree with you on the last part. That wouldnt be for me either. As far as the Seneca Army Depot goes, thats not high fence, the deer can and do get in and out of that place regularly. You do pretty much hunt where they tell you to. -

There are actually quite a few guide services here in NY, and some areas have excellent hunting. -
GRST QDMA 2015 Field Day

lol, drink a few for me! -
Thats what I do, pull as hard as I can, then reach up in there and cut. I can usually get it toward the back of the throat.

Im a heathen, what can I say?
-
The only times I use my knife after the butt and initial incision are done, is when I cut the wind pipe and diaphram. Everything else just tears out super easy as long as you didnt gut shoot it.
-
I do the sharp side out for skinning, but you know how I am about my big, clunky guthooks
-
I start at the sternum, the reason I do is because I cut with the hair, it reduces how much of it ends up all over the place. Sometimes I cut the butt first, other times it will be after the initial incision. I have a Butt Out tool, and prefer my knife, which is a gut hook.

Why wouldnt you post a map? You dont need labels on there for roads, coordinates, etc. Ive posted ariel maps of my spots before with no issues.

An aerial map/photo of the area would help.

I shoot those or the Shockwaves, which as others have said, are the same. I have plenty of meat in the freezer and a couple of mounts on the wall because of them. I will say expansion isnt great, but they are very accurate. Shot my first ML buck with one a few years back at 190 yards with my 50 cal. Hit him with a high shoulder shot and it took him off his feet. He got up and ran abou 60 or so yards and piled up. The buck I shot the season before last was at around 50 yards, hit him through the shoulders, blew up the front of both lungs. He went maybe 70 yards.

Heres a few from the last pull

Yep, it is going to be NY's first big store, and will be just shy of 150,000 sq feet.
-
I have been to the Harrisburg one, its not even half the size of the Springfield location.

really cool pic. I actually caught a video of a buck on the 3rd of July a couple of years ago and you could hear the town fireworks going off (thats when they do theirs every year) a couple of miles away.

Mine are out, checked them once so far.

I have to be honest about this topic, I used to say the same "if you dont like it dont open it" thing as some, but thats back when the political posts used to USUALLY have something to do with hunting, gun rights or conservation. In the last 9 to 12 months, things took a turn on here, and my opinion has changed a bit. I dont hardly go into any of the political threads anymore, and its gotten tiresome trying to keep any kind of order around here, even with the extremely loose rules. I dont have nearly as much time to be on here anymore, and I like to read the threads and whatnot, not babysit, edit posts and slap hands all the time. Im annoyed by it alot of the time anymore really. Just my 2 cents

I wouldnt buy Wildgame, Stealth or Wildview cams with your money. I have had good luck with Moultries in the past, and absolutely love my Coverts. Im thinking of trying a Spypoint after reading alot of good reviews. A USA Trailcam is on my list to try as well.
