Broadcasting Tiny Seed
WNYBuckHunter replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
One of the farmers that farms the land I hunt was talking to me about this very thing. He said if all of the seed is tiny, and youre having a tough time with laying down too much seed, just get some play sand and mix the seed into it. It helps with a more even broadcast as long as you mix it good. -
Its about time you admitted it Doc! 32 days.....

I was kidding
-
I wasnt defending anyone. Just calling it how I see it.

I asked all involved to simmer down. I didnt direct anything at you. Nobody has gotten any ban hammer. If you continue to keep the nonsense going after youve been asked to settle down, then what you get is on you. Our opinions on things have nothing to do with it.Honestly, the only racial or bigoted slurs in this thread have come from you. Stop being such a pariah.

Impossible!

Sorry, the officer either does not know the laws, or is misinterpreting them. It is illegal to pile the apples, or any other natural food up with the intention of attracting deer. Its illegal to hunt over, and illegal to run a cam over. Its kind of like the way you can brush hog a standing corn field, but cannot rake it all up into a pile, it must stay where it falls. Youd better write a couple of emails to the DEC and if you get the same response in writing, hang on to it to show the court when you end up getting pinched for baiting. Biz isnt trolling, he was making a point. A correct point at that.

BTW, simmer down there boys.

So your saying its a problem with a WB? Any improperly tuned rest is going to mess up your accuracy. WB, Drop away, hell, even a blade or prong rest has to be properly installed and tuned. Ive shot my WB (even before I started using spray) in all temps and conditions, and have never had any brushing sound on a draw.Maybe if it wasnt tuned right and your angle is a bit off, causing it to put pressure on the bristles, or maybe if you are using too small of a hole for the arrow.
-
Oh ok, I gottcha now. I thought you meant literally jammed in there on the shot. I was gonna say, Id like to see proof of that happening lol. I actually looked into that Revolution rest and heard some bad stuff about the first generation of it, so I stayed with my WB. Like I said, just keeping it simple.
-
Sorry belo, but I can comment on which is better as I shoot with guys that use drop aways. Their bows are no more or less accurate than mine. An arrow cannot get lodged in a whisker biscuit. Where do you come up with this nonsense? I dont use a drop away because I like to keep my stuff as simple as it can be.

Id look around for a used semiauto in that price range. I wouldnt bother with an O/U for Turkey or Waterfowl. Its more bulky and a tad harder to conceal for turkey, and you only have 2 shots for waterfowl. The other consideration is recoil. Im not a big fan of it, and a gas operated semi takes alot off of that.

NY DEC has some of them. Ive seen them before in different places just far enough off the road that they look pretty legit.
-
He took the meat off of those. I was talking about the heart. I knew him leaving the ribs there would make you sad.
-
Pretty cool way of doing it. Left one of the best parts in there though.

I realize a python lock wont deter the determined, but it keeps honest people honest.
-
Counting on it

Congrats!

Python lock. Peace of mind.

Geno, theres a pile of Strip Steaks in my freezer and beer in the fridge waiting for you to get your ass up here. Ill cook them up mint bro!

To me, its still a gimmick. As my arrow passes through the deer, it sticks in the ground, marking the spot I hit the deer, and my vanes/arrow tend to hold a good bit of evidence of exactly the kind of hit it was. Nothing to pop off, etc. If it aint broke....

New Pistol Permit Holder
WNYBuckHunter replied to TheBuccaneer's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
"Can you carry a handgun while hunting with a shotgun? If so, are there caliber limits/ restrictions or shot limits/ restrictions as far as how many bullets can be in the magazine?" Yes you can, all normal regs apply. Basically, any autoloader pistol with a barrel less than 8 inches is allowed to have 7 rounds (SAFE Act), otherwise it doesnt matter. It cannot be rimfire. Barrel length cannot exceed 16". "Assuming you can carry a pistol with you while shotgun hunting, is it legal to use that as a secondary firearm to put a kill shot into a deer?" Yes "I've read that you can't carry for this purpose during bow season which makes sense but what about Muzzleloading?" Not legal in muzzle loader season unless its a muzzle loading pistol. -
I know exactly what I shoot, and how fast it goes through a chrono. Do I think it makes me a better hunter or shooter? Not really, I just like to know the details. Most guys I know have no idea how fast their arrows are going.
-
Its talking in circles because the facts show that when there is actually a Mt Lion in the area, evidence (whether it be pics, prints, scat, kills) is present. Now show me any verifiable evidence to back up any of the other claims or sightings and Ill pay attention.

Keep trying to suck me into insulting you, its not going to work.
