  1. Funny sign, but if you ever have to actually shoot someone in your house, that sign will not be helpful to your court case.
  2. I think this whole deal has been a big fiasco from the start. All you have to do is look at the pictures of Zimmerman when he was first. Taken to the police station or hospital to figure out how Martin ended up dead. The guy should walk. The race card is bogus, just a distraction from the fact this Martin kid was a drug dealing little punk.
  3. Youre so original. The crossbow thing is far from over, you havent won a thing. Just because youve taken a decent buck with your bow doesnt mean youre any better than anyone else. Your shit still stinks. BTW, the "e" in douche is still silent.
  4. Its a dumb law. Pointless as well. Safe gun handling is safe gun handling, doesnt matter what type it is.
  5. HAHA Its probably just some stock photo he found on the web. Still should have used something that didnt represent an illegal activity if done in NY, which is the state hes talking about.
  6. "check my avatar. maybe if you get a crossbow one day you'll get the chance :fuck:" Oh Ive had chances at deer that would probably make you fall out of your stand, just havent sealed the deal yet. It will happen, and it will happen with my Hoyt. "so you can flip me off but I can't respond to it? got it. Family site with a smiley entitled f#*C. lmao! oh, and it's still illegal. still winning, and you're still whining." You cant recognize that your crap stinks like everyone else's and you cant recognize sarcasm. Im not whining about anything at all bub, but you sure will be when when the DEC sticks crossbows into archery season.
  7. Just be aware that many bow companies will no longer honor the warranty if you use a DrawLoc.
  8. Yep, Ive heard that too, and saw it happen last year. I got out in my tree stand about 20 minutes before the rain was going to pass, and not 5 minutes after it slowed down to a drizzle, I had a very nice buck come through and freshen his scrape line. I was not able to get a shot on him, but it confirmed what I had read about it. I try to hang my cams and check them right before a rain if possible. Stands, I try to do the day before it rains.
  9. Alot of bows dont even come with a grip. You can try shooting directly off the riser and see what happens. Me, I like the grip on my Hoyt, and shoot just fine with it on there.
  10. I dont agree with this what so ever. I appreciate every single deer I take, no matter what weapon I use to kill it. You always completely count out the fact that it takes skill to get close enough to deer (consistently) to kill them with archery tackle. What difference is there between putting an arrow through the heart of a deer at 20 yards with your Mathews or Biz putting an arrow through a deers heart at 20 yards with his crossbow? In the end, nothing.
  11. I agree with this to an extent. I feel that crossbows will give people that want to archery hunt but cant/dont practice enough with their bows a better opportunity to make a good shot. Its not going to fix everything, and it surely wont fix irresponsibility issues, but it will fix the majority of the non responsibility related problems IMO. You are never going to weed out the truly bad apples.
  12. Is that a Bear Whitetail Hunter II? I have one as well. If it was me, Id be restringing that Oneida and shooting it.
  13. Doc, there are a bunch of videos out there of people taking 100 yard shots with vertical bows. What in the world is your or belo's point here? The FACT is, that just because the weapon is capable of something in perfect conditions, doesnt mean you can do the same thing in a hunting situation, with a live animal that moves, etc. You yourself have made that very statement in discussions on long distance archery shots in the past. So now its convenient for you to say differently.
  14. My mom finished up her batch of homemade blackberry jam the other day. Im enjoying some on toast right now. Delicious!
  15. Bingo. It has nothing to do with the weapon, its the ding dong that doesnt practice and put in the effort they should.
  16. Well, since belo was talking about deer season......
  17. I hear ya, but I dont want one on a light background on my back while Im pushing through a thick stand of brush during deer season lol. I also could care less if they get rid of them or not. Not an issue to me.
  18. 1 - I dont care if you have or havent, fact is, they are available, and people use them, or there would be nobody selling them. 2 - That guy didnt kill anything, its target practice, and there are videos of guys taking 100 yard shots with compounds too. Hunting situations dont usually emulate target practice on a range. There are so many more variables in the average hunting situation, which limit your effective range. How about you talk to guys who hunt deer with a crossbow and see what they limit themselves to. There are plenty of them over on Archerytalk, Id me glad to watch how your thread over there goes, I have an account, just send me a link.
  19. No, its not an opinion, weve been down this road. Fact is, the NY Senate PASSED the bill overwhelmingly, and the only person keeping it from the Assembly is one guy, Sweeny. Until the Assembly gets to vote on it and veto's it, your comment is baseless. As far as sitting and spinning on things, please, dont try to pawn your sexual fantasies off on me. I dont swing that way and this is a family site.
