  1. It wont kill you, but your shoulder will hurt like a bitch for a few days The most important thing is to walk away from it when you start developing a bit of a flinch. If you dont, you will have a tough time shooting it without flinching all the time.
  2. Id go to Kentucky. Its beautiful there, still inexpensive to live in most places, great hunting and a very short winter.
  3. ? Did you not see that stuff in the bottom pic? Well, the trash cans were behind me. My post reply was to the folks saying to just go and shoot on State land. An organized, well thought out New York State owned range is what I'd like to see. Your range pic looks great. What did you use for front and rear rests with the shotgun? My shoulder in the rear and my hand in the front with my elbow resting on the bench. When I shot the groups I rested the forearm on some sand bags, but still held the rear. I honestly feel like someone hit me in the shoulder with a sledge hammer. I let my friend that was there with me shoot it, he took one shot (which was dead at 3 inches high in the center at 50 yards), put it down and said he would never shoot it again. I will never put more than a box or two through it without a lead sled again.
  4. Just a Bushnell Banner 1.5-4x32. Its a solid scope though.
  5. doc uses wooden arrows with sharpened rocks held on by vines.... lol I thought he finally made the switch
  6. Its on the list of must haves. My shoulder demands it ;D
  7. If you put antifreeze in the bucket, you dont need the bait. The sweet smell attracts them, just make sure cats and dogs cant get to it. Worked great for mice in an old house I rented years ago.

  9. So I just got back from the range, had a great time. The shotgun shoots very well, but its not much fun to shoot. I put 23 rounds through it and my arm is killing me. Heres a picture of some of the paper, the one on the left was getting the scope adjusted, and the other two were a couple of the best groups. Im liking the Hornady SSTs, they group pretty well, and Id like to see what they do off of a good bench rest. I am also going to try out the Remington Premier Accu-tips to see how they group. The next pic is the range.
  10. Yeah I know, I pointed that out in another thread. I prefer to shoot at the range with friends though. Its a very very nice club.
  11. Looks like a nice gun, 700s are great shooters! Enjoy it!
  12. I forgot to post it a couple of weeks ago when I ran across it again. 6 days of entering are better than none though
  13. When did I claim to be Mr. Ethics? When did I say anything was not ethical? Now you have me confused with the other guy you lost your little tiff with. Not making any sense makes you look like a fool! hahahahaha I in no way ever claimed anything about ethics! I just claimed that the video was a lame 4th grade production. That is all. I got that from your baiting comment. Maybe it was a little bit of a stretch and I got it wrong. Maybe not. Regardless of such, your inability to have a discussion without throwing out insults speaks volumes about you. BTW, Dave and I had no "tiff", we discussed things without throwing insults at each other and ended up understanding each other's point of view. Not every disagreement is a win or lose thing. I wouldnt expect you to understand that though.
  14. Oh I forgot to say lol Its a Remington 870 Sureshot Cantilever 12ga. The 223 is a Remington 700 SPS-V.
  15. I entered this last year, didnt win, but you dont get any spam or anything. http://www.thermacell.com/mosquito-repellent/outdoors/promotions
  16. Tonight I am finally going to get out to the range and get my new shotgun dialed in. Ive been fondling it since I bought it back in January or February, but with everything going on, and all of the crappy weather I havent even gotten to shoot it yet. I am also bringing my 223 to play around with. Should be a fun evening!
  17. I practice from 20 yards out to 50. I wouldnt shoot at a deer that far, but getting pretty good at 50 makes the 20 or 30 yard shots easier.
  18. Congrats to all of you. Looks like Im not taking one home this year, not going to be able to hunt this weekend as my fiance has to work and I have to stay home with the baby. Oh well, theres always next year!
  19. Coaches dont get paid hourly, they are paid a flat rate per sports season. If that coach spent 2 or 3 days somewhere for a competition, they didnt get any extra. Just sayin.
