I dont let things that people say bother me. I do tend to give people the old blank stare when they ask if I caught a deer yet though.

Thats for the input E! I like it so far, and will probably go with it or the fall brown for my early season gear when I replace what I have now. The only thing that stinks is the lack of variety in the smaller stuff, like gloves, etc. Id like to have some nice gloves for cold weather that match, oh well.

Awesome, it worked perfect. Im gonna limp along with my setup for this season, but will be installing a winch like yours in my barn over the off season.

I used the clothes this past Saturday and Sunday, it was pretty windy and cold and I was nice and toasty. I was only wearing my base layer under it and the wind proofing works great. This stuff should be great for hunting in the really cold weather. I rate it as a huge improvement over my old stuff and it should help to keep me out there longer with less money spent on heating pads and hand warmers.

Wow guys. Its legal for someone to sign a doe permit over to him. If someone chooses to do so, theres no problem. If someone sells the permit to him, they are breaking the law. No reason to argue about it. All of the DMP ads Ive seen on Craigslist have been people looking for them or others that have extra and are willing to sign them over, I havent seen any people trying to sell them.

I think its just that more of them are being reported. There are many more injuries that you never hear about unless you know the people involved.

Just heard another guy was found in the woods near Holley, NY last night. He fell while setting up a stand.

Sorry to hear about that. I agree with Doc, he died doing something he loved to do. My sympathies go out to you and yours.

To compare a dirty car to an uncleaned or maintained trigger assembly on a gun is apples and oranges. You are comparing cosmetic to functional parts. If you want to make a fair comparison to a car, think of it this way. If you dont change your oil in your car's engine (maintainence), and it seizes up because your oil filter plugs up, is that the manufacturer's fault? Of course not. Im not protecting Remington specifically, Im calling shenanigans on a report that is not true, or has been shown under false pretenses. If you care to drink the Kool-Aide, then by all means, but if you decided to go on a public forum and smear something without a shred of proof, dont be so surprised when people call you out on your accusations. Now how about those military findings? Can you back your statement up or not?

Here is what I saw not far from you Doc, the state land up the street from my house was loaded yesterday. Its a pretty small area of land, but there were at least 10 cars and trucks, and thats not counting the parking lot, which I couldnt see from where I went by.Its about a 10 minute trip up to my dad's property, and along the way I saw quite a few cars and trucks along the roads and parked on tractor roads. Shooting did start very early, and it was dark out yesterday morning due to the clouds. There is no state land near my father's and shooting was hot and heavy for the first couple of hours, then it died off and picked up again late afternoon. Today I hunted at my dad's first thing, when I went by the state land at about the same time, zero cars or trucks. Not one. Maybe one or two trucks on the sides of the roads the whole way up. Shooting started even earlier today than yesterday, but petered out quickly. Hunted the farm near my house for a few hours this afternoon, sporadic shooting. Went back to my dads for the evening sit, shots were few and far between. I have yet to see a single deer strapped to anything or hanging in anyones yard or barn.

Id give mine a 7. I didnt get anything, but I did get a shot (botched it, my fault), saw plenty of deer and had an absolute monster 20 yards from me.

I hunt from the ground from time to time still. I only started regularly using treestands about 6 or 7 years ago. Ive done pretty good from the ground.

Why would you be hard pressed to buy another Remington? The problem has been PROVEN to only happen when the mechanism is dirty or modified, which is not the fault of Remington, but the owner and user of the firearm. How about you post some proof of the supposed Military investigation? Im sure we would all be interested in reading their findings.

Nature called and I had to get out of my stand. I decided to come home and set up my popup blind so that my daughter and I have somewhete to go this coming week. I got done about 15 mins ago and figure I might as well sit here for a while. Shes gonna be mad if I shoot a deer out of here today lol.

I had 2 doe come by at 6:30, could have shot one but it was too early. Nothing since.

In my stand waiting for daybreak. Kicked that fox out on my way in again. I noticed there were almost zero trucks parked on the sides of the road today, state land was completely empty. Must be everyone tagged out yesterday lol.

Back in my stand. I have a nice red fox sleeping 100 yards out. If it wasnt,for the branches in the way id take him. Maybe he will come out when he wakes up.

6:15? How the heck can you see without a light at that time? I had a doe out in front of me at 6:30 and it was way too dark. Ive been watching guys go in and back out from lunch. Gonna pack up and head back to my stand soon.
