Take a closer look, could be rabbit damage. If it was a rub, or if it was very fresh, there would be shavings on top of the leaves around it.

Possibly, but its tough to tell, as I dont see any obvious identifying marks besides the spot in his left ear, which you cant see in the bottom pic. Thats a yearling buck, Number of points right now is impossible to tell, although it looks like he should be at least a 6. I dont think he goes past his ears though, beams have already started turning in.

Nope, but you can buy all of the parts besides the shaft. (Waiting for a good joke)

Scoring is tough to do with a contest like this. We would need an official scorer that each entry would be scored by. same with weight, it would have to be done on the same scale just to be fair. We will see how many prizes there will be, There will be 4 winners at this point. If we have enough prizes, Im sure a side contest can be figured out. Maybe a vote on the best "hero shot" that comes out of all of the entries or something like that. -

Yes, thats what will happen once I know what items will be donated. The more items we have, the better the prize packages will be. -

If one of you wants to get one going, let me know. I honestly dont have the time to run one at this point, but I can help get one going. -
My girlfriend cant eat them. I always end up with skinless nowdays. Its sad and pathetic.

both

Zweigels has skinless and natural casing. I prefer the natural casing ones, but the skinless are good too. You really need the variety pack with reds and whites in it.

Be ready to wish you had more.

I just got back a few days ago from a week in Tennessee and Florida. Both places had about the same weather. No biggie. Id rather have this than snow and cold. Alot easier to turn on the AC than fire up the pellet and wood stoves. Can get out on the boat as well!

I have a 15 foot aluminum boat with a trailer that I would like to trade for a 5-6 foot 3 point brush hog or a 6-8 foot 3 point disc. The boat is a project I picked up and havent had time for, so Ill see if I can swap it for something I have time to use. It has been stripped, so it will need seats, sanded down and painted. The hull and transom are in good shape, I have float tested it and it had no leaks. Trailer has good tires, could use new bunks, needs lights installed (I have a brand new set that will come with it). There is no paperwork for either the boat or trailer, it will need to be registered as home built. It would make a great pond boat if you dont want to mess with registering it.

We had a buck kicking around one of our farms last year that I heard was taken from the property next door. One of the guys that hunts with us once in a while said he saw a big buck being loaded into a truck in front of the adjoining property while he was driving by. I started checking cams closely after that, and sure enough, he was no longer showing up anywhere. I havent seen pics of him dead or anything like that, not even a mention of it around the area. Im pretty sure the guy that took him is keeping it hush hush. I was pretty bummed on this one, as I had been chasing this guy for a couple of seasons, and had his core area pegged pretty well. The area that he was taken out of was right where I knew he would be, the other hunter beat me to him. I happened to be in the wrong stand opening morning of bow. Heres are pics of him directly under one of my stands that morning. Would have been a perfect 10 yard quartering away shot.

I dont know if I could keep something like that quiet, its hard enough for me to not show my trailcam pics to everyone lol. I learned my lesson on that though. I know a bunch of guys that have shot bucks that would make most peoples jaws drop, but the only people that know about them are people that are close to them. I know of one particular hunter that has a pile of 150+ bucks, and a couple of legit booners that are only known of by family, close friends and the taxidermist that mounted them. All of them taken legally, mostly off of his chunk of land, which contains a funnel or two that are unreal. It happens

Im going to get my trail cut to get the tractor into the plots this weekend. Im going to get some pumpkins in the ground ASAP around some of the edges of the plots, then turning the ground over and planting the main parts in mid August. One plot will be a winter rye/clover mix and the other will be brassicas and oats.

Looks great!

Thats not smart, thats instinct. They do that from the time they are fawns.

Sad, isnt it? Many people are raising a bunch of pansies that are going to have a hard time handling life when theres no more mommy and daddy around to make all of their precious hurt feelings feel better. I honestly think its why kids shoot up schools and things like that these days.
