-

mine are yellow and reddish almost purple, last time i checked in the one wet plot, the rest r very lush -
yeah i thought of planting oats or something but decided not to , what grows will grow and with the fertilizer i put out there should be some young tender natural forage that pops up, with what brassicas make it. i got 4 other plots so it is what it is
-
yeah my other 4 plots are doing good they are either are on higher ground that dries up quickly or sloped so the water runs off, the plot that is wet sits right at a base of hill side and is flat I'll just have to have to hope it dries up and they come back, the worst part is its the biggest plot and I tried a new seed in it

start with hunting safety course im guessiing you havent done that based on the question u asked -
So i had one plot started out ok got a few inches tall and then got really wet standing water in some spots, the plants are stil only about 3in tall and discolored, and appear to be dying off i fertilized just to see what might happen if it drys up what are the chances it bounces back....
-
4 out 5 plots look good the 5th is really bad standing water what plants there are are trying to hang in there but they are discolored and arn't good at all i really need a week or so with no rain

Only issue I had was another hunter i got permission to hunt a piece of land it was owned by someone that didnt live in the area and was told me and a buddy should be the only ones hunting well...there were several guys with out permission hunting and they got the boot... land owner didnt want any one charged.. i had stands stole posted signs ripped down guys blowing car horns and etc... was a pain stopped hunting it after a few years.

I went to a small spreader one handed no bag it dosnt hold as much seed but very easy to control and not over seed when dealing with small seed
-
Clovers take much longer,, and the first year is very very slow clover is not going to take off till second year, most of the growth goes into roots
-
the maple tree really works ive done it, best if its cold and snow on ground

How About Some Rain
land 1 replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
well flood watch for down by my camp ive got enough rain shouldnt effect the plots,,, well part of one it will has had standing water in it since the end of july....I guess better the drought but I think the plots would benefit from a week of dry weather -
I went to a trailer last year way easier, ive got to bring generartor, coolers, gas can etc to camp so i needed the bed of the truck for other stuff
