    two of my drunk buddies at fishing/hunting camp one fall were able to intel information from the neighbors cabin with one of these and a set of binoculars, that they were about to cook 3 lbs of spaghetti but they never figured out why......lol True story. I have heard the same about not being able to detect direction and also hearing too much that every squirrel was Sasquatch loud.

    I am guessing they are already legally bonded to another contest. Only Boone and Crocket entries, fees paid by sponsors, photo releases...etc. We aren't big time enough. Or there just skeerd we might show em up! Lol

    With the DEC complaining we aren't killing enough deer and that there are leftover permits in a lot of areas these days and less hunters I don't see them keeping the same amount of days and moving the last week out farther. This is for additional added days for sure. Which I am all for. Just seems dumb to have 4 -5 days in between. Esp if the goal is to lower the deer numbers. More available hunting days means more chances to get out in the woods. And wouldnt a Xmas Eve hunt be cool! By the time muzzle comes i am usually about wore out but I would never pass more available hunting time. Places I hunt by the time Thanksgiving is over it's a ghost town. Not like the old days for sure.

    I am thinking they don't include rifle so it doesn't infringe on the snowmobile riders and push their season back as trails open right after regular season.

    And agree during firearms but by the time muzzle comes around there is no one out around our place. I see no reason to take a 4 day break other than for Eco s to have the time off. Esp when people are able to get the time off to hunt and can. Because other people want less pressured deer. Not everyone sees the same pressure. Esp late season.

    It might give deer at your area a break but not the same for everyone and a lot of people have time off around the holidays that could hunt. And have family out and could do a Xmas weekend family hunt, which would be amazing. This year late muzzle closes the 22nd. So why close it for 4 days and then reopen. I'm good with more hunting but why a 4 day close?

    Why wouldn't they just extend the late season from the last date. Usually it closes around Dec 12-16? So they would close it for a week and reopen for the week of Xmas? Am I missing something here? If they want to lenghten it just leave it open til Dec 31.

    Cant expect to catch a cagy mature buck on cam in a couple of days. Patience my friend. The ones we have around our property we are lucky to get three pics of them all season.

    This is my first deer. Can't seem to find first buck pic, which was a broken 3 point. But I think this doe was '89.

    how often are you checking the cams? need to let them soak for a bit. Or is this a cell cam?

    one effect from the corona ive noticed - masks laying all over the place. They might have to put a 5 cent deposit on them.

    i went with a 30-06 cause the guy i hunt with uses a .308 and i didn't want us to look stupid. I once shot a buck straight on in the front shoulder and found the bullet in the back quarter. 165 grain at 50 yards. I did a ton of damage but the deer sure dropped in his tracks.

    And it's free. I use it as well. My favorite gun stand has a bad wind direction right now. Guess I won't hunt this afternoon.
