  1. Beer is for drinking with it, but good point might try it. The sweet from the Dew seems to work well with the carrots and corn. Also have used apple juice and that was good. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  2. i used it most every year for our annual fishing trip in the Dacks. I put in a can of Mtn Dew with the potatoes, onions and carrots and some roasted garlic seasoning, let it cook for 20 min then add in the (precooked) sausage and corn for about 10 minutes. Pour it all into a big foil pan and everyone helps themselves. Ive also added in Shrimp over it tossed in Cajun seasoning over the top in the last 5 minutes. I also usually have metled butter with a little Franks Hot sauce for everyone to put over. Even made this for a few Jamokes on this site when they were out to fish and stayed at Verona beach. Easy to do, feeds a bunch and goes great with beers.
  3. i have to block the path into some of our treestands til season because they will make a deer path right under them. Then I try to reroute it 25 yards out. (stand in pic just above the deer here)
  4. i didnt vote for him then or now. So yes that is just one of the reasons. As we have discussed before i wont ever compromise my own principals for any reason whatsoever. I dont and have never felt he is fit to the president of the United States. That also includes Biden as well.
  5. got one and use it at least once a summer. i would say they are limited to a few dishes but i love a good boil with them. Salt potatoes, onions, carrots, sausage, corn yum.
  6. Lots of reasons to dislike him even before his presidantial announcement. Im hoping you even had some misforgivings on some of those. Esp the interaction wiht the Clintons. Trump sometimes remides me of a quote by philosopher Andrew Dice Clay - "some people play hard to get, i play hard to want".
  7. I am def not a pro, but I have two bags of throw and grow on standby just in case for this very reason. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  8. Now why would the Cheney family not like Trump before he was president as well....hmmm....can't put my finger on it .... Oh wait I can, there it is. Lol Just poking fun here north country..... As I've said I didn't like Trump before hand and he actually surprised me a lot in office by the things he did, but in my eyes he still did plenty I don't like that I can't ignore. 9. Cause animals move targets don't. But I would guess it's mostly overconfidence. Obviously an amazing archer maybe the goat but as we all know on a lesser scale, shooting a deer and a target is a different game. I watch a lot of outdoor shows and was really taken back by how many bad shots they took. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  10. Ever watch his show on the outdoor channel? He and his wife make and take some of the worst bow shots I've ever seen. Just because you can shoot 80 yards with a bow doesn't mean you should. Animals move and load up when they hear the bow go off (jumping the string). Shooting those distances just isn't a good idea on a live animal. Maybe an elk with a bigger kill zone but not whitetail. They shot deer in the ass, guts etc. One episode they get a gun and hunt it for a day or two to finish it. Now bad shots occur esp when bow hunting but they had so many and took such bad shots it was terrible, shots they have no business in taking imo. 11. It's just ridiculous and silly at this point. So coming home by hunting land and the road is wet where we park but on the end by the new food plot 400 yards away it's dry as a bone...... Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  12. its all about perspective. Tell me you wouldnt trade Hochul and Schumer and a first round draft pic for her in NY...... That being said she def let her personal feelings get tangled in here. But I wont hate her because she doesnt like Trump. I dont either. But the will of the people be done and her being out was def the choice. Im rooting for more dems to be out in Nov, not so worried about her. Her voting record was more than decent and I also think the way Trump acted on Jan 6th was a travesty although i loved his policy. I cant hate her for one issue, but not up to me I dont live in Wisconsin.
  13. Pouring here at the house. Nothing at the land 6 minutes away. Grrrr Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  14. Love the Grim whitetails ! been shooting those for a few years now - devastating!
  15. i lost a big walleye a couple of weeks ago got him to the boat and he came off just before the net. @Lawdwaz Info please on location of said walleye.......
  16. Happy Birthday Larry. Hope its a great one. @Lawdwaz
  17. It's rained like hell south of both of us. Even a couple t storm warnings. But not a drop here either. ...... Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  18. If anyone isnt using lighted nocks- give them a try. Especially now with the change in sunrise/sunset laws. So much easier to find your arrow but also just knowing where you hit the deer is a huge help.
  19. these are mostly different whitetail mixes. I def overseeded. Did so a bit on purpose cause two of the plots i didnt til and cant spray so wanted to be sure seed got to the ground. One that i did til came up a little spotty as it was so dry for 4-5 days before we had good rain. I will be back out on labor day weekend and anything that has not taken i still have a bag of throw and grow to use in case. Just need some rain this week. The plot we did yesterday We put "secret spot" mix in where it is real shaded. Then in the middle did winter peas and a 1/2 bag of a mix, then on the far end did some radish. Trying to determine what grows the best there.

  21. any pics of him yet this year? I have one I have had on cam for 2 years now and havent got a pic of him yet (Big Sixy). Hoping hes around for this season.
  22. yes and i happen to have some bags in the shed ready to go. Good idea, thanks. We are going out there labor day weekend to check all the stands for the season, replace straps and be sure cams are set. So will do that while we are out there.
  23. last and largest plot in on Sunday. (didnt do the whole field just from wheeler back to me.)
  24. Last and biggest plot in. Worked out perfectly. The farmer cut the area Fri and got done bailing it about 8pm last night. So we dug it up as best we can and planted. The forecast is for showers the next 4 days so hoping it takes. Now we are done til labor day weekend and will get the last 3 stands shooting lanes cleared and trail cams all out with fresh batteries and cards. And am whipped and time for breakfast.
