  1. Went over today and staked off plot and put up tape in case the farmer does a 3rd cut in that spot. It's growing well in some spots and spotty in others. But rather he didn't cut it all to the ground. Corey did a little trail trimming with the brush hog in swampy spots. We are done til Sept 30. Will come back that day, mid-day, and take down the stakes and pull cams. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  2. Looking tasty over there upstate! Def growing in and should draw them in. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  3. Good luck and get better soon. My hunting buddy had both of his hips done and it's amazing how fast someone is up and walking after. Best of luck and heal up soon. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  4. DEC officers have the same capacity as any police officer last I knew
  5. It looks to me the new law makes it illegal to carry a pistol anywhere in NY other than home or in a vehicle. All public places are out and also all private property unless specifically posted as allowing concealed carry firearms are all felonies. If this stays as law what is the sense of having a pistol permit? Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  6. past 5 years....... first pic - chased this first one around for 3 years. Named him Dark Knight cause we never once saw him in day light. 2nd pic - small rack big huge body. Was actually within 10 yards of him once and couldnt get a shot, I thought it was a loose cow at first. One night i came out from hunting and he was 50 yards from my truck. 3rd pic- have had this big 6 point around for 2 years but only a couple of pics of him - Big Sixy 4th pic - this buck - Checkbuck-I played chess wiht for 10 days last season and saw him a couple times but never in bow range. Not the same caliber as what WNY has here above but fun nonetheless! My goal is to take one buck off this property that is worthy of a wall mount (after the freezer is restocked of course)
  7. I dont think i am making it but not 100% sure. Looks like GF is gonna have to work a double as they are short at work, so might have critter duty help at her house in the morn.
  8. Maybe the very dry summer has pushed them to slightly different areas for water and food...... My spot is about the same as usual. But I do suspect they will use some different trails this season as the water was so crazy high last fall. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

  14. One month from the Southern Bow opener! 26 days til Northern bow. Early bear is soon. Today Goose and squirrel are open - anybody out? We need some live from the woods! Everyone, i am sure, is all ready for season by now! lol. It even feels like fall today.
  15. just an FYI - Found that Blains Farm and Fleet has some pretty good prices on plot seeds. Thought i would pass along. Cheaper than Amazon and cheap shipping deal. https://www.farmandfleet.com/s/?keyword=food+plot+
  16. good to hear from you and sounds like retirement is going great.
  17. Those out of that last batch of homemade sausage? Looks good Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  18. I think it also depends on how you like to hunt and where you are in life. I used to have permission to hunt an area that has more deer than the location I hunt now. But in that location all I could do for the most part is put up a treestand. Where I hunt now there is less deer but I can do a whole lot more to be involved in the whole hunting aspect. And if I still had permission at the other place, I wouldn't hunt it often. I enjoy the whole aspect of improvement for hunting so much. It costs more and doesn't have the deer density but I actually prefer it. I feel more like I've earned the deer and the hunt. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  19. It has been downpour here on and off. And a big line about to go thru. Looks like you will def get a good rain Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  20. gotta figure most dudes have a hobby. And they will invest in that to their means. It might be cars, travel, golf, snowmobiles, fishing etc etc. They will spend to their means for each of those hobbies. If you have the wallet to buy land you prob will. If not its leasing, permission private or public. I know i could def not afford to buy land just to hunt, if i could would I - yes. But i def have a lucky situation.
  21. Plots look like the pics on the bags of seed you buy! @Lomax Thats good to see one month before season!
