    my buddy got free permission to hunt across the road from him on 50 acres. Thought he hit the jackpot. Trailcaams got covered up and a treestand stolen. Locals hunt it and arent supposed to be on there but he isnt getting into a war for land he doesnt own. So it just wasnt worth it.

    Mine was ok with Winchester silver tips too but it def likes the lever revolution the best that I've found. But would def shoot whatever I would need to for availability.     It was the only shot. Lol. I was on a waiting list at buds since 2020 for it. And OF Course get notification it's available this weekend. Just after they sent me a notification that as of Sept 1 they will no longer ship to NY. Thanks to another member here I have a decent supply. And the rate I use it, will last me a long time.     the guy at the local gun shop wants nothing to do with it. Setting the table for everyone to send all their ammo to him and he gets basically nothing for it, and isnt sure about how the background checks work at that point for a third party deal, and he has to keep records of the transaction for years.......

    this weekend i got a notification from Buds that the ammo i was on the waitist for since 2020 was finally available and of course they no longer ship to NY as of Sept 1.

    Brunch with the GF today. Made apple pancakes, some homemade smoked sausage, and made scotch eggs for the first time with a little country pepper gravy. Scotch eggs were very good but still need to perfect that. My oil was too hot to start so they got darker than I wanted and sausage needed 1 minute more. So had to throw them in the oven to finish so in doing that lost my slightly runny yoke I wanted. Still ended up very good but will have to try it again.     Staked off our field edge plot as if we continue to get nice weather was worried they might do a third hay cut and take out our plants It's coming in ok, a little spotty. Looks like some of the peas are germinating now too. The sun is shining perfect on our deer stand. C'mon Oct 1. Will go back out there Sept 30 and pull the stakes and ribbon and trail cam cards.     One of the fields I used to hunt had a lot of alfalfa. They hayed it every year. If there are late beans or corn deer might be pulled to that but always saw deer hit hayfields esp if there was any new growth and it hasn't gotten too high. If it's less than knee high it should be a good draw. Seen them dig down thru snow to get to it. If it got too high I don't think it's as palatable. I know in places like Alberta they bring in hay bales during the hunting season to bait for deer. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
