  1. Zucchini and sausage stew. Zuchs, tomatoes, onions, peppers from the garden. Olive oil, garlic etc added as well Homemade Tuscan vodka sausage with roasted red peppers. So good! Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  2. Been eyeing that forecast hard. Tomorrow looked like a good rain a few days ago but not much now. Gonna stop at land tomorrow and cover seed with the grasses I cut to hold in some water from the dew. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  3. Gotta tell ya, not a fan of those blackened tomatoes. All I can think of is tomatoes with blight. Tomatoes are supposed to be red or green only. How they taste? For reference I also cannot drink cold brew coffee cause coffee is supposed to be warm. Lol. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  4. breaking my heart man!! lol Im at work and see this.... Looks like a good bunch. Must be a good bite out there. I always struggle in August on the eyes it seems. Although last year wasnt too bad.
  5. You can't start hunting Sept 1. It just means they are valid for this season unless your in a spot that opens that early for deer. It means you have two antlerless tags for that area to use as the laws and dates allow in that area. Also they are not good for a buck unless it is considered antlerless. (Ie a button buck or any with antler under 3"). However your archery tag itself can be used for an antlered or antlerless deer. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  6. unfortunetly spray isnt an option there. So trying to come up with a good plan. Our best success so far is frost seeding clover so we will continue with that. And last year the spot that didnt get flooded out grew in nicely from tilling, but our way of tilling is just too much work. Either have to come up with a better way or better equipment.
  7. I watched an episode of mossy oak gamekeepers about this and then also some utube videos after. I am going to try this on a couple of spots this season. I mowed this weekend, then going to wait two weeks, seed over the areas i want plotted, then mow again. They say the seed will filter down and the two weeks worth of mowing will act as a thatch and keep in the moisture. I like this plan a lot better than trying to til with the equipment we have.
  8. Just your regular beefsteak. They just sure got huge. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  9. I don't remember, gonna have to see if I have the info for them still. They got so big they toppled all my plants over. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  10. The one I was looking at was from northern tool as well. Next year we might give one a try. Thanks. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  11. Biggest tomatoes I've ever grown . They are like tomato pumpkins. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  12. Did you buy it from this site in pic? Most of these are listed for ,$500. And no issues collecting grass on it? Do you spray and kill weeds first ? Thanks . Looks great and def a possibility for us. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  13. Fished for about 2 hrs this morn. One keeper walleye, 3 shorts and some small panfish. Just couldn't get on them today. So let the walleye go and came home for breakfast. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  14. Maybe could but I will figure it out. Like to be able to do all the work myself but with better results for the work and time I am putting in with our current setup . Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  15. Zero rocks where we are. A tiller is def a possibility. We've been considering it. Def dont mind cutting more if it means a better way of doing things. I enjoy trail cutting anyway. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  16. Maybe one of these for next season..... Got a plan for this season. In doing some internet research am thinking since I cut this weekend, in two weeks go out and seed some throw and grow then cut again. I guess the seed tends to settle in and the 2 weeks worth of cut acts like a thatch cover. Gonna try that in a spot. Gonna try a few things and see what works best. Trying to plan for next year and beyond. What we are doing now is just too much labor esp the older I get. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  17. Put in a food plot at wayback today. A whole lot of work. We need to figure a better way and upgrade equipment or just frost seed and call it good. To much time and effort invested for such a small spot with the equipment we have. Need a tiller or discer so that don't have to lift and clean the plow after every pass. Hopefully this takes. Seeded it with shot plot and bow stand with a little radish mixed in. Tuesday looks like rain. Have more areas to do but Corey was away this weekend and figured I would get a start on it. 18. Put in a plot today. Gotta come up with a better system. This is too much on the manual labor side. I don't mind a good day of work but 5.5 hours to do a little plot is silly. And it hurts. Lol. The atv drag plow we have you can make one pass and have to lift and clean it off cause it gets too many weeds and no longer digs in. The plow is heavy and I have 2 cinder blocks on it as well. Do that a couple hundred times and it's a bit much. We either need to invest in a disker or a tiller or just frost seed as that has taken well. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  19. Happy birthday! Enjoy it and hope everyone is getting better. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  20. We always have to basically rake the areas before we til and seed. We have only a tow behind drag tiller for the atv and it builds up with grass and have to keep taking the grass off it over and over. It's the toughest part of tiling and wish we could get around it. 21. Id also say 2,800 is a good number for miles walked too. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks! Hoping so. The heat of next week isn't looking promising and I have a 3 day weekend. But might have to wait which is ok it still gives 30-45 days of growing. But we don't have top line equipment for tilling so it's a lot of work. And my fat old ass in 90+ isn't happening. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  23. Pulled cards on the 7 cams I had out. More bucks than usual in the summer. Nothing huge but looks like a 7, 5, wide 6?, And there were a couple of spikes. We usually only get 1-2 bucks all summer then it sure picks up in season. No sign of big sixy this year yet though. Looks like 5-6 does and a couple of fawns as well. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  24. Its a buddy of mine that doesn't hunt. We cut the trails and help him out some with taxes. Great guy! Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
  25. Have the day off and cut all the trails this morn! Took about 4.5 hours but all done. Tomorrow I think I may do a small plot at wayback stand. That area stays pretty moist so prob do that one only with the heat coming in. Corey is out of town this weekend so prob do just the one and then him and I can finish the rest. Saw a large yote, a doe and a fawn. Good day off. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
