1. Went by hunting land and the farmer just cut the field area I was gonna plant. So I have the day off tomorrow to do that but they saved me some work. Hopefully they get it bailed by sat so we can til and plant Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
2. Making a grilled tomato and cheese sandwich for lunch and snapped a pic of one of my pumpkin tomatoes! One tomato makes like 4 sandwiches. Gave a few away cause I can't eat that many for sure. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
3. Good luck Grampy. We are all rooting for this to pass quick for you Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
4. just looked on your page and last 10 or so posts were just short ones so guess i didnt respond due to that or possibly the topic.... But i am betting your one of the 98% on here i would gladly have a beer with. And would love to hear about some Georgia hunting- deer, gators, hogs... And i have a question - are wild hogs as prevalant there as us NYers' think? Always hear about how many are in the south and is it something people are able to hunt on open land or is most of it on private land? Ive heard they are bad and ive also heard a lot of people have capitialized on them for hunting on their private lands and its actually difficult to find a spot that an outfitter hasnt already gobbled up. And you ever run into Micheal Waddell? lol
5. i will be a maybe for it. That weekend we are cutting all our shooting lanes and replacing straps on all our treestands (10), and replacing battereies and cam cards in 7 cams and have 4 more to put up and a possible a last mow on the trails so its gonna be pending weather and getting that done. Damn ive gotta dust of the bow and shoot it soon too! Havent been to one in a while and would def like to meet you guys there. @ridgerunner88 was asking about bow shoots in the area if hes interested too.
6. Now ya got me excited to check mine this weekend Lomax . Those look great! One has been seeded for two weeks so might see something happing there. The other two have only been a week. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
7. I considered this bow a bit myself. My hunting buddy has one and really likes it. But I am hoping Larry did buy it and is going to camo it just like that rifle he has! This is a must. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
8. Smothered venison burger and sliced tomatoes with horseradish and everything bagel topping Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
9. If pineapple is in the top 10 the list isn't valid. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
10. me thinks your possum has a friend...... never know whats out there. Trailcam time and reset the trap! I had a bald eagle in the tree in my backyard on Tues. Pulled in the driveway and he took off.
11. thought the time was interesting in the pics. That the fisher or black kitty that went thru was 1 minute ahead of the bear. Lol prob getting out of his way!
12. yeah if you can although these days dont look like a lot of rain any particular day. We are putting in our biggest plot this sat. And the temps are gonna be cooler so hoping that helps til the rain comes. I guess doing it when time allows is the biggest obstacle then trying to plan around a rainfall. I planted one spot two weeks ago and we hardly got any rain til this week so im hopingit took ok. I covered it with the cuttings thinking maybe that would help as well.
13. This long range forecast for next week looks good. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
14. 7J has 38,000 permits for this year but no early season? Highest in the state - makes no sense. I have a stand in a small spot in 7J and would love to take an early doe and fill the freezer.
15. let us know how they were. I know those breakfast muffins you gave us the recipe for were excellent! Esp after a morning in the woods. If you havent made before - sausage stars are a great snack. Bake wontons in a mini muffin pan for like 5 minutes and then fill with cooked sausage, cheese etc and bake for another 5 minutes.
16. i will be back out this weekend to finish mine up. With the rain yesterday this is how i picture in my mind the ones i already did .....
17. awesome to hear ! Congrats to you and the family!
18. This should help! Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
19. yield from most deer is about 45-50% of its dressed weight. So figure about 45-50 pounds of meat per deer unless its a big one. An average 110 pound doe is only gonna yield about 40#s of meat.
20. rest up and youll be better soon! Gatorade, vitamin C and hunting shows prescribed for the next 2 days. Sucks having a fever in this heat and humidity too i am sure .
21. Cassity hollow in Oriskany falls is a nice course. I've shot that several times. And fairly close to Rome just take 26 south. Surprised Trenton doesn't have any on the schedule anymore. But I think the guy that ran that there passed away a bit ago. That was a nice shoot too bad if they aren't doing it anymore. They have a great fish and game club. Vernon national used to have a 3D course but I think they closed it, but not sure. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
22. Try this site. They have 3D shoots in your area. Trenton fish and game is a nice one and near you. Dunno if they are having it anymore in Trenton. Didn't see it on the calendar. https://cnyarchery.com/calendar.php Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
23. Venison kabobs ready for the grill later Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
