ive been a few times. One year I was chasing a nice 8 pt around. But by then i usually have 2-3 deer in the freezer and a whole LOT of hours in the field. Also the places i hunt are just setup for being on stand and really not big enough for a walk around day . Plus its just damn cold out ... I dont really even hunt gun season as much either cause i love the bow season. But all hunting is good and i have always looked at it as a safety net in case i havent gotten a deer it gives me an extra few days. I always thought a late season mule deer muzzleloader hunt would be pretty neat to go out on. Just with a general tag on public land but never put it together to go

I've never taken a deer with my muzzleloader. By the time season gets here it's so cold and I usually already have venison in the freezer. Might have to use it during regular gun this year. It might be my most accurate gun at 100 yards away. The thing is dead on. Would like to break it in but it's hard not to take a regular gun. And I would like to fill it in muzzleloader season. Prob depends on how the archery season goes. But would like to add the 50 cal to the list.

glad to hear for them. Just ridiculous the difference in county regs doesnt seem right.

yeah i heard Onondaga is even tougher . I have heard that since i work in Madison county that i can transfer permit to that county but just havent looked into it yet. Esp since the pistol office is 5 minutes from here and the Oneida co one is a 30 minute drive . Just havent had a chance to change it. But am planning on looking into.

def not hiring a lawyer to spend money on a pistol permit. Just to lose anyway - Judge will not allow anything else .

must be most of you guys have had your pistol permits for a while. Here I was told that if I applied for anything other than "hunting, fishing hiking and target shooting" i would be denied. Many of the counties i hear are like this now, esp the more populated ones. While i hear that other counties esp up north will give out unrestricted. Its such a ridiculous mess.

i lease and its been great. Dont have to pay taxes or keep up on repairs, just hunt it. But i also lease from a great guy so that goes a lonnnggg way to it working out. Limitations are that you can't do whatever you want with land but thats ok. Esp if they also lease to a farmer for AG then you got it made - already have food plots too. ONe downside to my lease land was a stipulation that a fellow that has duck hunted there for years still does. So for a week in early Oct the weekend he will be there duck hunting and then maybe a weekend late november. But for the price and it was an upfront stipulation - I can live with it for sure.

Oneida Co and NYS say I can only carry when "Hunting,Fishing, Hiking or target shooting" so guess thats it. The rest of the time i have to carry a pointy stick.

Fresh walleye from this morning. Fish tacos with some horseradish slaw and salt taters with broccoli Alfredo and bacon over .

Got a couple today. Lost the first and last one. Just couldn't boat that limit. Biggest perch of the year for sure it was like a mini walleye. These are dinner tonite! Had to wait for fog to lift this morn. Wow it was thick.

Have seen acorns and apples on the ground. But we've also had a lot of storms and winds. So thinking that also contributes

Have caught a couple on them this year. But cert not a go to for me. See a lot of guys fishing them. I usually will jig one while drifting with a worm and spinner rig on occasion. Or when right on a nice dropoff.

thought maybe you were - since most of the 3D shoots I go to have an 80 yard target at the end for bonus points. lol Yeah I never shoot at it. Bonus points are free but arrows are not. Well that sounds more like the reality i know - lol
