Tracking and After the Shot Lessons Learned
Robhuntandfish replied to crappyice's topic in Deer Hunting
they were $20. They are pretty bright but wouldnt scare a deer anymore than walking around. I hope not to use them and have all the deer drop in sight, but if i need to im thinking they might be pretty handy to have! -
Happy Birthday ! Have a great day! @BizCT

Cased up 10lbs of smoked sausage. It's not smoked but fresh sausage, but will be used on the grill and in smoker. This spice mix came out perfect. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

That looks great! If you haven't corned a roast yet gotta try it. Use Johnplav's recipe. Then smoke it for venison pastrami... Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

Not venison sausage. But mixed up some sausage to case this weekend. 9lbs of ground pork, 1lb ground bacon, minced garlic, smoked sausage spice mix from the Amish, liquid smoke, cup of apple sauce and some Morton's tender quick. Mixed and in the fridge to case on Sunday . Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

the deepest spot in Oneida is 55ft. and thats for a very very small area. its shallow and warms quick, just not great Salmon water. But it does seem like a few more brown trout are being caught in there in last couple of years that also come in from the tribs. http://fishcreeksalmon.org/

@ATbuckhunter Happy Birthday ! Have a great day!

they actually stock them in the tribs of fish crick and mad river. They then grow there a bit and go out to the lake, then return to the tribs to spawn in a few years. Originally i guess there were Salmon in there and every once in a while people will catch them esp in the spring fishing for walleye. Its a private group that does it and funds it all , but to me Oneida is a warm water fishery and they are kinda spitting in the wind with this.

Got invited to help stock 70,000 Atlantic salmon fingerlings in Oneida lake last year. Didn't go cause I actually think that is poor management but I have helped stock browns before in Lewis county. It was fun Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

Live From The Woods 2022 Turkey Edition
Robhuntandfish replied to fasteddie's topic in Turkey Hunting
ive shot 2 turkeys with a bow and never found either of them. To quote a wise man named Tacks- "turkeys are meant to be shot in the face with a scatter gun". -
Looks like a great time we did an annual fishing trip for 20 years and it's a good time. Those trout are beautiful! Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

Nothing prettier than the brook trout and my last meal would be brook trout and bacon. The orange color of the meat is amazing. Delicate to cook a bit but very good. Good luck. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

I have a 535 Mossberg for turkey and a Stevenson for ducks. I thought so on the steel but wasn't sure. Thanks for the info as always! I told him to go with a 12 as ducks are hard enough to hit, don't make it harder with a 20. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk
