  1. The past deer harvest threads seem to vanish into thin air, don't they? LOL.
  2. Long story short, yesterday afternoon, multiple deer- 1; landtracdeerhunter- 0 . All I have to say is we have a lot of deer at large yet. Morning crunch time, LOL.
  3. Congrats! Do you know what his body weight was?
  4. It's October 1st all over again, but this time the rules are a little different.
  5. Lined up on a nice doe tonight at 60 yards. Just as I pulled back on the hammer,I saw antlers in the scope. Now shoot the doe, or wait for a clear shot on the buck. Muzzleloader starts tomorrow, LOL.
  6. Most deer hunters sing the same song, but the Clash get credit for it.
  7. On Rts. 63 and 77. Their hitting the wheat fields, this time of year.
  8. Very bright and crunchy morning. Counted several dozen deer on our yearly trip to Batavia last night. Thought it would be a great night, LOL.
  9. My son shot this deer yesterday afternoon. Doe fawn came out of a thicket and this buck came crashing through after it, giving a nice 35 yard muzzleloader shot. A nice heart lung shot. Live weight was 137 pounds. It shed one side of it's rack, and broken off the other. Someone had shot it in the left front leg. Looks like shed hunting season will start earlier this year, LOL.
  10. Nice afternoon sit yesterday, my son shot a buck chasing a doe fawn. It had already lost one antler and broke off the other. Pics in the harvest thread.
  11. Rainy days on Monday; always get me down, LOL.
  12. I know, it's nice to shoot one once in a while, but just think of all the fun you had this season, LOL.
  13. Those late doe are aged more and mighty tasty, LOL.
  14. Was that deer stressed, earlier shot? Did u check the skull plate afterwards to see why?
  15. I skin from the rear legs down, also. Easier for me too!
  16. We haven't loss a rack yet, LOL.
  17. LOL, grow we're old fashion. I grew up to let the meat cure a few days. Hide keeps the meat from drying out.
  18. Antlered get hung by the horns. Non antlered get hung by the neck. Call it what you like, but they do drain and wash out better. The head and neck area will swell if hung by the rear legs for the time needed for meat curing. For mounting purposes, not so good. Ask any taxidermist.
  19. My youngest shot the biggest buck of his life in the rain. My oldest shot his 8 pointer in the rain. My first 8 pointer was shot in the rain. Not to mention the best kept secret is going on right now, breeding. You bet we're out there. We work with the weather we're dealt, LOL.
  20. I started today. Shooting nice groups with the muzzleloader at 150 yards. Hunted with it tonight. Will have it in hand, rest of the season.
  21. The governor signed the S.A.F.E. act into law, because they said guns were to blame. Well, what the hell are they going to do about the drug abuse? Nobody gives a rats ass about that! ( Excuse my french)
  22. I seen a nice buck on Maple Rd. the other night. He was heading towards Clarence, LOL.
  23. Don't worry, officials will bring in sharp shooters to thin those deer. Birth control is another option. Opps, that didn't work the last time, LOL.
