Those that are selenophobic and or friggatriskaidekaphobia may not want to leave the house. You see it's Friday the 13th with a full moon. If you get a chance tonight, get out and view the full moon on this Friday the 13th. First time in nearly a century. Next one won't take place till 2049.

Collecting Old Bottles, China, Other Things
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in General Chit Chat
Wooly, that Mason Improved Top is like mine, but mine came with the bottle and most of the metal band in tack. Can you or anyone else shed any historical facts about'em? -
Another nice recovery. Boy, a real nice length G 2 on that one with mass. He ought to make a beauty, come bow,

Really enjoy the site and the postings from all the members. Nice to be able see the different insight from across the state. Thanks so much, burmjohn! For all that you do, this buds for you. -
Has this happen prior years? Result of the NY. S.A.F.E. act? What about BH. 209?

Ontario Knife Company Expanding
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in General Chit Chat
Ontario makes a number of U.S. Military Issue fixed blades, machetes, and bayonets. They also make some really nice folders. They have one that's named the XM-1 Extreme. A military folder that is a supper unit. Many China clones, but miles apart from the original Ontario's. Congrats to the Ontario Knife company. Still believing in New York. -
Nice to see a hunting related company expanding in NY, for a change. Please excuse my uploading. Ontario Knife breaks ground on expansion - Olean Times Herald News - Ontario Knife breaks ground on expansion News.htm

Woolys bottle posting started me thinking of all the neat stuff I have seen while into the shed hunting mode. Not into it much, but did find some cool items ( I guess). I have to take some pics of some of it. Back in March, I nearly stepped onto a saucer, that I researched dating back into the 1890'S made by Royal Ironstone China company of England. Still in pretty good shape. One other was a Bally Improved green glass canning jar with a star cover. Many other medicine bottles, some partially cracked or broken. Any other people like collecting these items?

Always room for one more! Shed hunting and more. Neat find! This shed hunting, one can stumble onto a lot of great stuff. I seen several bottles, and a neat plate on my travels. I'll start a new thread on this.

Food Plot for hire?

Paula, you sure get some interesting deer there. Maybe we can see the mature one, if you have an chance, or want to shoot it.

Most stores have one or two heads, with the rest, well lets say " less experienced help," to put it in a nice manner. The Cabelas stores I've been in seem to to hire good knowledgeable sales people. I would hope this new store will exhibit the same type of staff. I assume Red installed the flagging appliances. Good job! Very true to the corner of the building. I look for your footprint in the cement, as I tour the establishment LOL.

Food Plot for hire?
landtracdeerhunter replied to JFB's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I'd be interested in a little more info also. -
Their in a good location, on the way to the river to appeal to the people fishing. That might be one of their stronger sales areas. Cabelas, not as much.

Use a Thermocell and a bug suit. Prefer the 1st way over the second. Their way handier in turkey season. A must in picture season too. Let it go for a few minutes to deter the little pest, then let it simmer for a while.

Pan fish are very tasty and a heck of a lot more plentiful, that's for sure. Still fun to call in an old gobbler though. I'm sensing that your sightings were a bit short of the start line this year.

Congats to you and your cousin on a nice double. That just doesn't happen very often, and going to make for fond memories. Read the story on NYAO., very nice and a great added touch to his website.

Wish I had something to knock my lawn back; been cutting it a couple times a week so far. Always like the natural assault weapons against the war on bugs. Natural methods are my cup of tea without sugar to control these little pest. I've noticed large numbers of blackbirds starting to visit the fields. Suppose the army worms are marching in, time of the year for it. Still waiting for some of my sweet friends to drop by. Won't be long now.

Gander also had several racks of knives to chose from.

How did the gun section look to you? What kind of stick selection did Dicks have?
-
Other then that, how do you like it?, LOL.

A rare, unique, one of a kind mount that looks very nice. I hope that fine mount will hang in a nice area. No sticking in the barn, LOL. I'm curious as to all those wing feathers. They all came off one turkey? Just never realized they had so many.

I agree, it sure not what it was when it first opened. But then again, what store is? Have you gone in that store after the remodeling? We didn't need any help on the floor, but the people in the firearms section were very helpful and friendly. Yes it was the Tonawanda store, LOL. The misses came in and got me headed toward the entrance. She know when you get my son and I together in a outdoor store, it will be hours before the light of day will be seen again. We are going to camp out the night before in the parking lot when Cabelas opens. May just have to camp out the next night also, LOL. Maybe our governor will be there, seeing that he's falling all over this area before election, not to forget my SAFE. act sign.

We live in and area that see multiple hits per year. I've witness some of these collisions. It hard enough when a nice buck gets slaughtered, but even worse to see a doe along the road this time of year, knowing her young will most likely die. I watch deer daily, crossing the road. Most are lucky, some are not.
