  1. Darn nice find wooly! Keep on looking. Those right sides are out their somewhere. Good luck and may the shed force lead you in their direction.
  2. My shedding desires got the best of me today. Pushed into an area, just melted off from winter's harsh fury. A thick mangled mess of brier that I have put off because I knew what price I would have to pay . I push through. My hands scratched, poked, and pricked with berry bush thorns. My forehead scratched and bleeding. Eye poked and my nose is swelled. Yes friends, I left this area till last, walking by it several times. Today, it called to me, and I broke down, loosing my will to resist, LOL. My effort was fullfilled. This is the right side to a left already found last week. Maybe 60 yard away. Laid fully under water. No chew. Mark this the second set for me. This one had unusual amount of skull bone attached.
  3. Looks good. I could only hope for a nice pattern like yours, on my 20.
  4. Have had ample chances at jakes in past years, filmed instead. Much about my turkey hunting has to do with a good challenge on a nice older tom. I like a good hard, earned hunt, one that I can tell the grand kids later down the road. I want a nice big tom, that I can mount. The deer are getting lonely, LOL.
  5. Pulled the taps on Wednesday. Good season with a few quarts missing in the pic,LOL. Next year we upgrade.
  6. Had a few hours to kill this morning.Started getting a feeling a shed was close by. Sure enough, this little guy laid straight ahead, not 20 minutes into my hunt. Darn deer sure are tame this time of year, LOL. Guess maybe next year, I'll start a journal.
  7. Extremely high. Is your plot next to a lime quarry? LOL
  8. Their are major restrictions on knives in New York. Most people don't even know about the knife laws. Edit- sp.
  9. Got out yesterday after the rain stopped, rechecked areas that were still covered in snow the first search I went through. The sun etched it's way out making a really nice afternoon of it. Sun always makes the antlers glow for me. The landscape didn't yield any new sheds, but did find another dead yearling. Coming in, 7 deer were eating in the new growth of the clover fields. They are in really good shape.
  10. I do, but attach a kite string to control movement. I leave them inflated and carry in an orange bag to get to my spot.
  11. I agree, and might add, the financial times warrant people ability to spend $ on mounts.
  12. Congrats on hitting double digits. Fine set with really nice color. Came in drenched last evening, 4 miles, only bone were some deer leg bones which will make some nice handles. I'm headed to the areas of the single finds myself, maybe over looked on the first journey. Good luck!
  13. take a walk and find shed numbers 5 and 6 right on deer trails. Tough to get in there until the snow melted. Covering spots I covered in January, blew in waist deep. It's all gone now, but tough trucking through the mud.
  14. We're all doomed! Oh wait, it's CNN, we're ok.
  15. Great find wooly. Why do you think their coming in, this late with no chew on them?
  16. Tanks everyone! The sheds laid 19' apart in a bedding area noticed in January. I like to stay out of those areas till April 1st, and it paid off. Dang near as much fun as hunting those whitetails, almost, LOL. Oh no Wooly, I've got the fever, LOL!
  17. So now does the DEC have to do it's thing, or is it a done deal?
  18. Thanks for posting. Heard a turkey gobble yesterday am.. Sent chills down my spine, LOL.
