  1. Still waiting. Dark clouds, dry as a bone.
  2. T storms , Canada head east, maybe rain move into the county, Hot and sticky.
  3. Well, we don't seem to have the acorn drop, the rest do, but we don't have much of a crop either. The whites don't have a one, not seen from the ground anyways. The reds have clusters of one to two max.. No bumper crop by any means. The hickory nuts are few and far between too. Walnuts look good with clusters of 3 to 4. My one horse chestnut tree is loaded.
  4. We had a guley washer 2 weeks ago, 8/10". No rain since. The summers continue to be dry. To think, I took pics of flooding here in early May.
  5. Congrats WNY. Nothing like owning your own home. There's always lots to do, but fit it in with hunting season, lol. Bought our first in 82. That's when intrest rates were 16.5%. Spent a whopping 12 grand for a 2 story, 3 bedroom forcloser. Boy those days are sure gone. Good luck with the closing. Remember, the real estate agents are working for the seller.
  6. "Bearly" a few drops. Think one could count them. It's so dry here, the worms have turned to stone.
  7. Does anyone reuse the lighted nock in a new arrow, once shot through a deer, or are they pretty much junk?
  8. Funny they didn't charge him for the crossbow. And if he's homeless, where did the $ come from for the materials. Maybe he had a Home Depot credit card? lol
  9. Be at the right place, right time. Catch them when they slip up.
  10. Now, correct me if I'm wrong. He wouldn't have been in trouble, if he wasn't growing pot?
  11. Although I don't own one (yet). They are a better choice in stand placement. The Pack n Stack can go into trees with branches, verses a climber, that cannot be use. This would be especially useful on public land where limbs cannot be cut. I'll be looking for one with a better seat on it.
  12. Well wasn't that nicely done. Tuck the youth hunt in with crossbow..
  13. Hard work that's going to pay off this fall. That JD looks like either a 3010 or 3020.
  14. They say NYC broke a record at 100 degrees yesterday. That's HOT.
  15. Reached 96 yesterday. We had about 3/10 of an inch, just before 11 last night. No drought buster by any means, but the tomatoes, peppers look better this morning. Least, their not wilting yet. Also cooled down to 80 or so, less humidity. Now to get something done in the field.
  16. Their is no way, I would ever pay that kind of money for a crossbow, reguardless of the numbers. Their are some shops in Ohio, that carry these names, at a much more conservative price. They have some nice second hand bows for maybe a third of new price.
  17. Always carry one while working. I either loose or break them, so go with that cheap China junk. Problem is our old cars are coming back as jack knifes, Don't hold an edge very long.
  18. Just be in the fields that special day. U know the day, the one day of all hunting days. A north wind with an estrus doe in the area. Anyone that experience that can't say no 8pt, ,pass the ears, buck hunting only in NYS..
  19. Never been able to purchase much of anything at Gander. Now my son has walked in, gets deals. His last gun.. Clerks told me they can't sell displays. He walk in paid less than anyone else and got 50 bucks knocked off for a display. Resale is bad on anything, new- used. Try it with a automobile.
  20. My lighted nocks always seem to go into seed, fert, fuel, etc.. Do you feel a must have or could survive without them, now that u own them.
  21. nyslowhand,Food Plots. If I'm taking from nature, I'm dam well giving back. That is my return on investment. Each year just pumps me up more and more. Something to look forward to, when the winter snows flow. And now, October 1st Southern bow opener, my God, I'm in heaven. lol
  22. Pretty good light show to our north. Most here is dry lightning. Seems to be along lake Ontario heading southeast into Rochester area. ( according to radar) Think it forgot how to rain.
  23. Here we go again, 92 at noon, windy and very humid. Maybe blow up a nice rain if we're lucky.
  24. Holding off all planting now till Late August. Planting anything here now would be a waist, without irrigation. Farmers around have planted plenty of soybeans, that the deer visit nightly. Corn is in that mid afternoon wilt stage, but looks pretty good. No dews. The second cutting hay is ankle tall and in blossom. Without the snow fall last winter, think it made it all the more dryer. Why are the summers getting dryer?
