Soak it in a bucket or tote for a couple.of days ,then stake it to an ant hill and cover with tote. If you want to keep.patina on antlers wrap in. Foil , will take a few months but they clean it well. Will take longer now as we are heading to winter but now its mummified can save and do next spring as well .

Never said it wasnt happening, just question the death find time line of decomposition, and I hope.all have been turned over to dec, as I have not seen an official update since sept 6th

I ve worked in a swamp digging for a museum of science, paleontology dig for over 25 years and it's still a month or more as many time we found recently dead animals and watched them.decay over the 4 weeks we dug. To bone as you stated is still over a month.

I never questioned the hardhorn, most buck racks are mineralized by later july.early.august, I did take exception to it took a week. I would suggest you put a newspaper in your photos or a piece of.paper with date on it. If you want to quell the questions. Personally I hope every.one is shown to dec. My only issue was the rate of decay claimed. Many have to be from several months ago is all I am saying but dead is dead

Nice 7 weeks after death , not a week not even 1 month..
-
Takes about a week with hide, meat and brain removed in a tank full of flesh eating beatles..

Considering if was underwater the fly larva would drown , 3 to 5 days of feeding of larva after hatching 8 to 48 hours after laying still take a month minimum to clean bone. No offence but if this has been going on for several months , you are finding deer that may of died in june or july.. again report to dec. I have not seen an official update from them and if is as bad as you say then I would expect one, As for election my area of state never votes blue. Your area is the problem..

Actually to bone it still take months. And this has been studied intensely three to four months “Then it takes a long time for them to decay past that. In shaded areas, after three to four months, they become a skeleton.” In general — though not always — he's found that bodies decompose faster in hotter, more humid climes than in colder, drier spots.Oct 31, 2013 Weather.com › science › news › fles... They are a small game.nughtmare, but deer have been getting along with them for eons. Still keep them in check, I believe bears are the bigger issue, add in some big.bobcats and deer have problems

I've used huntstand for years it's free, never bought paid version. Works well ,and I like it gives landowner info ( 10 free a month)
-
I dont understand why you cant buy land if your paying rent or own/buying a house you can buy land , or buy a house with land.. my one friend always said that and pays 1200 a month rent.. I told him that's a house morgage payment with 50 acres..
-
Straight up is how you remove them just make sure you drive them in pretty deep so they dont dig them up
-
Your pulling straight up on it, animals cant they pull side to side...

Do you report show these finds to the dec? Local sportsman / conservation clubs? Just seems odd if you keep finding dead but ask the dec and they dont have reports of more found tested...

It will kill off midges that cause it.. but although frost warning is more widespread the freeze is for higher colder spots , which is where I am..

Yes tooth wear isn't exact neither is body characteristics, but cut a tooth and thin section it and there is no doubt. My big 8 I had done knowing from sheds it was at least 7.5 and it came back at 8.5. Fortunately I was involved with a museum of science and had access to thin section a tooth.

There is just like bear tooth ring anaylisis.

Yes rye will grow anytime temps are above 34 degrees ,it a good fail safe. Just plant when it it has a about 5 days of above 34 to germinate and get root in ground then it's good to go.

Not to happy there is a freeze warning tonight and probably.one for sat and Sunday as well. This will kill a lot of the food plots, farmers are chopping corn like crazy trying to save what they can as most.corn around here is at 3/4 milk line and wont make black tip for whole grain harvest.. The chance of mold and rot increases dramatically when moisture is to high. I'm going to see if it kills mine or not, hope the weatherman is wrong , only needed about 10 days to black tip. As for the brassicas the deer are on them already a few plots are down to stems and bulbs. This freeze will stop regrowth but sweeten the remaining plants/ bulbs. They will be disappearing quickly as competing corn from farmers has all been chopped ( usually they chop in october) As for natural foods if hard enough there will be immediate mass mast drop and dont expect lot of fall colors as leaves will die and drop quickly as well... hoping for light frost not freeze they are calling for... For those that think foodplots are exactly like baiting , you dont need to worry about freeze killing your plots early no. Reducing yields. Just put out your pile and the amount you want every time... huge difference..
