You had better have live stock to use them and even then it could be a DEC call if a farmer took a deer over one. I think having them clarify for you is a grat idea. Best right from the horses mouth.

Better yet I just email the DEC region 8. I will cut and paste the entire email when I gat a response.

What the hell is wrong with some of you freaking wimps on here? Do you want us to hold hands and politely tell all law breakers the rules and then give them a hug at the end so every thing is all right?

Its been covered here countless times, if you are dumb enough to put a picture of an illegal act on the internet you had better be prepared to recieve the blow back. And laws are pretty black and white on this topic, should be no confusion.

No, you won't because you will be embarassed. You will just never respond.

Childish respone! Again this thread was about selling land. The guy was attacked about an unconfirmed salt lick. I just didn't get all the hostility toward him or the post. I simple post stating if that was a salt lick he might want to think about getting it off the property prior to putting it on the market. Instead his mine and several others moral and hunting ethics were attacked. I have 30 some posts on this site. I have no history for you or anyone else to make an assuption of my character. Sites like these are for people with common intersts to talk about and share opinions on an activity we are ALL suppose to enjoy, there is enough outside forces ready to attack us all the time. If any of them lurk this type of sites, threads like this and the attacks give them ample ammunition to use against us! Again telling someone it is an illeagal practice is good, if he comes back and says I don't care I will hunt over what ever I want then he doesn't deserve to be called a hunter and isn't worth my time, but the attacks dished out here were totally undeserved!

BTW I'll respond I have nothing to be embarassed about. I have never or will I knowingly break a law, nor did I defend the use of bait in any form. Besides after reading the reg from the DEC that wnybuckhunter posted pretty much states that it's not allowed.

You are wrong Doe, We should hug them into a new vision in life. Lawbreakers aren't bad people, Their plight in life has forced them into those actions.

Really? Please show me one post in this thread where anyone broke the law, said they would willingly break the law or condone anyone breaking the law.

you---"No the high road was the fact thae he is just trying to sell some land and is getting killed for what might or might not be a salt lick. Even if it is so what, get rid of it if you buy the land! "

Our definitions of "condoning" must be different. Indifference to illegal activities is condoning.

How about the picture in the begining of the thread with the salt block in it? Oh I know you can't be sure even though its right in front of your face.

Culver, if you're so anti-baiting (I am, too), then why are you trying to start another 'left vs. right' pissing match?

You forgot to make bold the next few words where I said GET RID OF IT. In no way was that saying it was ok. Remember the dectectives here have not proven whether or not it is a salt lick. Not know the guy I have to take him for his word that it isn't a salt lick, but again if it is SO WHAT Just get rid of it.

SO the view we should have is don't say anything....just remove it if we buy it...and hope there aren't any more, if there are more. Because under NY law you don't even have ot know you are hunting over bait to be ticketed for hunting over bait. . Got it. My mistake.

LOL good one Virgil. I guess I was baiting, I honestly didn't mean to though. I know the open season on Liberals was in November and I thought if it wasn't during an open season I wasn't baiting. :bye:

Geeze, is Mexico and 7A even in the Southern Tier?

yes it is. the boundary is part of pulaski actually, like west of route 11 and south side of rte 13 or something. i get a 7a tag every year, i hunt cty rte 28, which is town of richland, but the address is pulaski. yes plenty of block clover over there. its a hybrid.
