Dont know about your area but they are very abundant here along the salmon river. I would think not that rare at all. Hardly ever see them out in the wild especially during the day here but come trapping season its not hard to hit a quota at all in a short time.

From DEC website. Tried to find a population map of them but no such luck.

In New York State, fisher can be found throughout approximately 26,000 square miles of forested habitat within the northern, eastern and southeastern parts of the state.

My buddy has a nice 8 pointer running around his backyard in Harrison...how to insure a paralyzingly shot to avoid it dying on the libs lawn next door....lol...big problem with no solution except to enjoy the view and drive 2 hours to hunting land we access and leave th big boy a home!..sux

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but that thing, (also looks like you caught it in your last pic in the bottom left corner) looks like a straight up pigglet.

i thought the same thing or just a big raccoon
