Australia has a message for American gun owners. You better take heed.

Recommended Posts

Australia is providing a real-time, current, laboratory in what even partial gun confiscation can mean. I'm sure that this will be totally ignored by the anti-gun lobby here and outside of this forum as they hide from proof of what the future holds in store for us if they have their way.

As I listen to the descriptions of the home invasions, escalating crime rate, and other abuses of the disarmed Austrailian people, I can only ask, "How could anyone expect that it would turn out any different". But, I'm sure the anti-gunners will have no problem running away from these facts as they push their nonsensical agendas.

I dont understand what doesnt make sense here. Unless the facts in that video are incorrect, what is there to dispute?

It seems we have a knack of taking something that has been proven in other countries to be a failure, and think that we can do the same thing here and make it work. You know what it is when you do the same thing expecting different results?

I'm willing to bet that this thread winds up with the fewest pages of entire firearms banning discussion. There is no way to dispute the failures of gun banning when you hear them in the words of those who have experienced it. This will be the thread that the gun control fanatics of this site will wish had never been posted and I am sure they will avoid it like the plague.....lol.

"The key fallacy of so-called gun control laws is that such laws do not in fact control guns. They simply disarm law-abiding citizens, while people bent on violence find firearms readily available. If gun control zealots had any respect for facts, they would have discovered this long ago, because there have been too many factual studies over the years to leave any serious doubt about gun control laws being not merely futile but counterproductive. ... Yet many of the most zealous advocates of gun control laws, on both sides of the Atlantic, have also been advocates of leniency toward criminals. In Britain, such people have been so successful that legal gun ownership has been reduced almost to the vanishing point, while even most convicted felons in Britain are not put behind bars. ... Guns are not the problem. People are the problem -- including people who are determined to push gun control laws, either in ignorance of the facts or in defiance of the facts. There is innocent ignorance and there is invincible, dogmatic and self-righteous ignorance. Every tragic mass shooting seems to bring out examples of both among gun control advocates." --economist Thomas Sowell

There are a lot of people with guns in this country. They will have their hands full. And I guarantee half the people that want to invade homes have second thoughts because they dont know if they will find a muzzle pointed at them when they enter. Guns are a deterent. Our nation's big guns keep threats at bay and it's no different in an American's home.
