Winter Project

I got a wood burning stove back in September and I finally got around to putting the mantel and stone up. Now I don't feel bad leaving for a couple of weekends in May for some turkey!

Gotcha. No scratch coat? Just curious? I have the same project to do.

I did it over three seperate days. I did a scratch coat up as far as I planned on working for that day. I then layed the stone out on a piece of plywood and back buttered the stone when I was ready to put it up. I found if I went too far the stone would begin to sag because of the weight. The toughest part was the curved cuts around the top of the fireplace. Once I got past that point, it went pretty quick.
