Karp...Indeed a fine buck..I posted my thread above before I read this one...

As far as EATING good... In my experience the older bucks are stronger tasting than the yearlings and the does... I have only shot a couple of 3.5 year old bucks myself, but I have eaten venison from several shot by friends... In every case ( in my limited experience) the meat from the older bucks was stronger than the meat from a 1.5-2.5 year old buck or ANY doe..Never ate a doe I didn't like... ....

Any other info on this deer? I dont see a tag on it in the pic or anything else that shows its from NY. Ill hold back on my congrats until I see some proof.

Tag is on the left antler in the back, it's the real deal from a very reliable source.

I have not heard or seen any info about this deer. Will have to check out the Watkins Bait shop and see if they know.I see in another thread someone said they seen it near Monterey, I bet that deer is on Monterey Jacks Deer Board over there. There is alot of nice state land over in that area to hunt. I am guessing Sugar Hill.

If you look closely you can see the tag that is on its left antler.  What is that thing hanging straight down from its left antler though.  Almost looks like velvet still hanging there?

Looks like part of the arrow proping the head up.

yes it's the spent arrow that killed the deer.

Buck was shot on suger hill rd saturday morning. 160 class buck

Hunted turkeys on Sugar Hill State Forest for years.

With 9000 acres, some pretty remote areas with only seasonal access roads and horse trails.

Never hunted deer there, apparently I should have. ???
