greg54
I was taking a walk this past Sunday in Golden Hill State Park, and walked across the footbridge across Golden Hill Creek. I was only off the bridge for a few minutes on the other side, and decided to head back. Within the few minutes I was facing away from bridge, something made a quick dash across it and left wet footprints on the wood of the bridge deck. There is evidence of beavers all along the creek, there work evident on the trees. Anybody have any idea what they might be from? I'm curious as to what it might be. I also put pic up of the creek, this was about 50 yards upstream of the footbridge. That gives a view of the landscape around there.

G-Man
I don't see the large hind foot print indicative of raccoon, look closer to woodchuck tracks... Perhaps it went to creek to get a drink. And got its front feet wet... hard to tell with out a size comparison and full track pattern.. Pygmy
I agree with G-man that it looks more like a woodchuck than a coon. Size comparison would be nice. The tracks also look much like a mink track, but mink tracks would be quite small.
G-Man
I though possibly a mink as well but doesn't seem to have the bounding stride I usually see with them

RangerClay
I don't think it's mink. Pine martin or fisher. I'm leaning to fisher. Edited April 10, 2014 by RangerClay
