Lol butcher had NYStrip on sale for $4.99 pound. You had to buy the whole strip 14-16 pounds each. I got two and had em cut em to 1 inch. I was just getting ready to vacuum seal in the pic. 31 pounds- 28 steaks

That's funny, I just bought my first NY Strip from Costco and got a great deal on it. USDA Prime, regular price of $10.99/lb but I probably got it for roughly $5-6/lb.

Also had a Food Saver brand vac sealer on sale, so I picked one up as well and put 10 out of the 12 steaks away with it. I cut it myself to 1.5" thick each. I wasn't quite impressed with the sealer, felt like it left too many air pockets vs my food wrap method.

The food vacs take some getting used to, but you should be able to seal them up and leave absolutely no air in there, especially for something like a steak.  Make sure the inside of the plastic bags is dry and clean, I wipe mine with a paper towel before sealing.  Also, make sure all of the edge of the bag is inside of the vac channel.  Lastly, be sure you're getting a good seal, sometimes flipping over the foam seals will help.  Be sure they are dry too.

Nice deal on the steaks, especially US Prime!

I'm freaking starved. I often forget to eat on my days off. Today being one of them. I did caulk a bunch of windows ( and realized I'm a hack at it ) and stain the deck though   Hmmm, what's in the freezer ?!

I haven't eaten yet. Just in case, the election goes sour, the less in the belly, the less that comes out.

Deer heart fajitas were on the menu tonight. Mine and my sons favorite deer season treat.

Love watching kids eat good food like it's the first and last meal they will ever have! I have 1 boy who LOVES food! His memory is based on food. "Dad, that's where we ate that burger...isn't that where we had those wings with the extra sauce?" Great shot and meal!

At first, the wife said, "he should follow me on Pinterest!"

But then I got this for ya, ha...

I think she added a little more pepper than the recipe called for, and it was a welcome addition.
