After 3 weekends of hunting I finally got to see my first deer I had a small 6 pt at 7 yards I ended up giving him the pass for today

What a surprisingly slow day... saw a couple fawns and one mature doe...no squirrels...what's going on !!? It was 34 this a.m. I guessed I'd be covered in em

slowest day of the season so far, been in the stand since 6 and the only thing to show is a raccoon at first light, high winds have the dee hunkered down, hoping due to lack of morning movement and cold front they will be on their feet this afternoon

Well...I can't hold off any longer...now I watched 2 doe and some fawn walk under a stand last night....... the buck walked toward that area from opposite side...going out there  now and hope they all do the same...but while giving me a shot...Mr B can take it with him in the morning if I get one...this guys has wanted one for two years...I made sausage last year so used them...he called this morning...said I'll by the ammo if ya want...lol

Well ran into my first bow hunter on state land. He was walking straight at me in a field. think he was planning to set up here. Sorry pal beat you by one hour. He stood there starring at me. I'm sure he was swearing. The he turned 90 ° and headed down the field edge. I have a feeling he is going to try and cut me off

3m Had a big bear on trail camera Friday. Out this morning, despite the whipping winds i had 5 doe and 2 spike browsing around me for quite some time. With work at 10, wasn't looking to shoot a doe this morning. Out again tomorrow afternoon, hopefully able to put some meat on the freezer.

So Friday was my last day to hunt before spending the weekend packing up to head to New Mexico for some elk hunting. Saw a few nice doe in the am but no good shot. In the evening I had a close encounter (15yds) with a nice 8-pt but no chance at a shot. Drew on him twice but too much brush to poke an arrow thru. After about 40 minutes of watching him wander by and out into the winter wheat field darkness (pitch black) descended on me and I snuck out without being busted.

The next morning a 14 yr old son of a friend arrowhead his first deer, a doe, in the stand I spent my am in on Friday! It was so much fun to see his excitement when we tracked it 25 yds. and found that he made a great shot on it.

Then another buddy who sat in the stand where I saw the eight climbed down about ten, walked around the corner and there was the eight feeding right in the middle of the trail, less than ten yds away! Another short tracking job and we all retired to the house for some celebrating.

Wonder how many others my friends will take off of my property while I'm gone? Really, I enjoy having friends over, especially the young ones.

Called it quits at 9am in 7P. Freezing. Shooting a recurve and only having a thin shooting glove on your is cold. As i am walking back to house walk up on a yearling doe by the bird feeder by the house. So i take my short hair to hunt for some grouse and see a fisher 30 yards off the road clombing a dead tree ripping it apart. He was so occupied i turned the jeep around got out and stalked to within 20 yards and took some video. Will try And post later.

The wind constantly swirled again tonight. Had 3 doe just out of range when they caught my scent.

Had a lone deer blowing down in the brushy bottom. I think it was a buck trying to make his way to a scrape line. Northwest winds just dont work in that spot. Oh well, it's enjoyable just being afield. Gonna work some ot this week and let that spot sit til the rut. I got the does patterned, so it won't be long til the bucks will be cruising!

Slow night. Couple yearlings hung around toll the yotes started singing. And the best part was as I walked back to the house, the dogs followed....yippin and barking right on my tail. wait till I have a 12ga in my hands u dirty dogs.

Had 2 does come by, tried to shoot the lead one and knicked a branch, very little watery blood on vanes of arrow, think it hit her in front leg, marked area where arrow was found and going to look in am and make sure.

 Well just got back from my first sit of the year! I saw 23 doe and one 5 point buck. Most were out of range but 3 doe came in at 12 yards which is exactly where I wanted them. I went to shoot but when I pulled back my peep had turned and I couldn't see a thing out of it. I think the d loop moved or the string re-stretched, but in all honesty I have no clue. Ill be headed to the pro shop Tuesday to hopefully see what the problem is. I've never had this happen to me so i'm flying blind.

Man I saw a few snow flakes this morning. Tonight I saw 4 small bucks hit the field and pushed some doe around.
