GreeneHunter
Well my Daughter and Grand Daughter had to put down their Boxer . She was 14 years old and had Tumors all over and was very sick . Sometimes you have to show the love for what is the same as another Family Member and do what's right !
CharlieNY
Yes it's a very hard thing to do. My female beagle is 16 years old and I know I will probably have to do the same in the near future. Just remind the girls that heaven gained another angel. New York Hillbilly
Sorry for your loss. Losing one's pet can be heart breaking. I have gone through it myself many times, so I feel for you all. That she made it 14 years is clear testimony that she experienced much love and care, and was fortunate to have been part of a wonderful family. bugsNbows
My daughter is a Vet. Her least favorite task is putting down animals.
First-light
It's a horrible thing to do but the dog is the one suffering. I remember every dog I have put down, that day, last breath. Cried my eyes out every time. Thankful you had 14 years with her. Time will heel. Sorry for your loss.
Gobbler Chaser
Can't even think about it. Got a couple that are nearing that time and it comes to mind everyday. Might even keep me from getting anymore. Guess I'm getting old
Daveboone
I had to put down my Rottie a month ago. Out of work, she was my constant companion, and I had never had a dog that was as intelligent or as devoted (we are a long time Rottweiler family). She was closing on twelve, which is exceptionally old for her breed, and was in amazing health until only about two months ago, when she had a very rapid decline. I still choke up thinking about it. The only light in that tunnel....our new nine week old Rottie who is quickly taking over the house, happily playing with her new big brother and playing tag with our cat.
