Cory
Sun up to sun down sit today. I didn’t see anything. Very disappointing season for me this year. I only seen 3 deer all crossbow, gun and now muzzleloader seasons combined. Cams are active but only at night. Hopefully next year.

New York Hillbilly
I planned to hunt this morning. But with a house full of family sleeping here since last night, I didn’t want to disturb anyone. I’ll grab a couple hours this evening. 7M Edited December 28, 2024 by New York Hillbilly
landtracdeerhunter
Friday afternoon sit produced a lot of eating machine young ones. A few antlerless bucks and yearly doe also came in. The bucks seem alot more at ease without their horns. Saturday am. brought in a surprising number. With the thaw in progress, easier eating without having to paw through the snow. Looks like tonight could be a good sit, if the winds stay light.

landtracdeerhunter
Balmy 55 degrees; just like a Spring day. Young showed early, older later. Unloaded and sat later to enjoy the stars . I believe, caught a glimpse of the Internation Space Station. Tughill Tamer
So me and a cpl guys came up to the Cortland area late this morning we have doe tags for 7r for the holiday hunt. We got a 3 hr sit this afternoon and seen nothing and only heard one shot. We are hunting the pipeline Rd in the tuller hill State Forest. We seen way more predator tracks than deer tracks. We got all day tomorrow to hunt but considering going elsewhere. These are some pretty big tracks I'm thinking bear?Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk
Tughill Tamer
Upon further looking around on Google now I'm thinking maybe a big coyote track it doesn't really look like a bear track.Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

landtracdeerhunter
Had 5 young's ones show along with my number one shooter buck fully antlered this afternoon Third time suppose to be a charm. I couldn't get a good shot. Gotta shoot'em before you can hang'em on the wall. The spot still open. He just may make 7 1/2.

I would of passed but they were out at 9 am. Button buck was before him.

buffalojay83
Muzzleloader WNY Buck Sat in a tree for 3.5 hrs. A few doe ran up to me about 10:30. I raised up on one and, pft.... misfire. Saw three run off I put a new primer in and after a few minutes wondered if my powder got wet. It did. Pushed the bad load out with my ram rod and pushed my ram rod through with a stick from the tree I was in. Reloaded and waited till noon. Got down and walked through the wet leaves in silence with the wind in my favor. Followed a trail of fresh scat piles every 50/100 yds and as I popped my head over a hill/mound i saw him standing about 70 yds looking in my direction. I knew he couldn't smell me. I raised up quick, pulled the hammer back lined him up and squeezed. As the smoke cleared I saw two more deer run off that were with him. I reloaded quick and peered through my binos. He dropped dead right where he was standing. 100gr white hots 300gr powerbelt aerolights Remington primerCva optimaSent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

landtracdeerhunter
A bunch of tearing doe along with a young 6 pointer came out about 4:10 New Years Eve afternoon sit. Started raining about 5ish when the older doe with twins came out with extreme caution. They ate their way over to the wheat as as dusk fell. Looks like todays going to be wet snow and breezy as we come to a close. Good luck to those heading out .

How did you take out the breach plug to get the powder out. Do you bring the tool on the hunt with you?

Do you bring the tool on the hunt with you?The beach plug just unscrews on mine. The hard part was clearing the round because the ram rod is shorter than the barrel. So I unscrewed the palm saver on the ram rod, pushed the ram rod as far as I could through the barrel from the break, then pushed the ram rod with a stick to clear the bad power and round out of the muzzle, then just pulled out the ram rod and reloaded.
