RangerClay
Hi Guys and gals, For those of you who don't know I participate in cowboy action shooting. (that me in the purple shirt btw). I need to get a new cowboy hat pronto. Unfortunately shops in New York that sell cowboy hats are few and far between. I'm hoping that someone here knows of a shop that sells nice high quality cowboy hats in either northern NY or within an hours drive of Syracuse. Now I don't want the rodeo style hats that they sell at Tractor Supply or (gag) shady bradys. I'm hoping that maybe one or two of you here who own horses might know of a tack shop with good selection. Thanks .
moog5050
I don't know much about cowboy hats, but I know this place sells them: David Trailer World and Country Mall Just sw of Rochester.
growalot
that would have been my answer...not the best web sight but you could give them a call...But a online search will give you some wonderful shops that make custom hats or sell high quality ones on line...you just need to call and give measurements.....I looked ..there are some great ones out there and Milliners in NYC. http://www.davistrailerworld.com/
Culvercreek hunt club
Couple hour trip out to Henrietta but you won't find a better hat. There is a reason celebrities come to get his custom hats. They are fantastic. http://www.davebrownhats.com

RangerClay
http://www.sheplers.com/cowboy-hats.html?gclid=CNux1uO74sYCFYsWHwodwNANjQ&source=PPC_Google_Hats_Western&ef_id=VM4jzgAAAO5-3zeX:20150717152103:s Yes I'm familiar with on-line. Plenty of places. But most hat companies have a $20 shipping fee and I'm not coughing that up twice if the hat doesn't fit. I was hoping someone here would know of a tack shop with a good hat selection near Syracuse. Edited July 17, 2015 by RangerClay

landtracdeerhunter
The only area, to get a cowboy hat from would be in New Mexico, where real cowboys come from. From the movie, "Cowboy Way."

I will check them out. cdmckane Thanks I was actually in there this past Thursday. They had some hats but nothing nice. A bunch of over-priced junk and shady bradys. They used to have some nice stuff, that's why I drove down there, but not anymore.
