All the more reason to elect anyone but Bernie and Hillary. She said she would appoint Obama. Only chance we have is neither of them. But we could not even get rid of Cuomo when be strippdusofour rights. If this does not light a fire, nothing will. But of course no one wants to see the political posts and possibly learn something. It is going to be interesting replacing him. There seems no possible outcome that is good for the Republican Party. Obama would be a fool to appoint anyone left of the center of the road. If the Senate stonewalls a moderate pick, they risk motivating the D's and thus losing the election. Then Bernie or Hillary get to choose.

 

Even if the Senate manages to hold off approving an Obama pick, and an R won as president, they will not find someone to replace Scalia as a conservative intellectual force.

This election was already important but it just got critical. It doesn't seem like BO will be successful forcing in another liberal Justice as a lame duck Pres. against the Republicans, (although that didn't stop him from saying he would) but if Hillary, Bernie or God forbid Bloomburg takes it - our gun rights are gone.

Things definitely just took a scary turn.

The stuff going on in this country is scary!!!  I'm thankful I'm the age I am (young-60s).  I'm afraid we've seen the best of our country...it could change, but we need a generation of fighters for what's right!  

I doubt our parent's generation would have let any of this stuff go on that has for the last decade or so without reacting

to defend our country...it's pathetic!

A lot (not all) of our younger generation have no idea or clue as to what it's all about or what is at stake..."Socialism", forget it- probably most of them think it's something about social media.

We need a court judge just like Scalia- a constitutionalist...could you imagine if Obama got Eric Holder or someone like that in there?

Today we are at a critical time in history in our country!  For the Trump bashers...my feeling is that I think I would rather have a guy that might border a little obnoxiousness, but tough, and a deal maker, and successful businessman to try to turn the country around.

I kinda think anyone else in the mix will be politics as usual...promise anything , but deliver nothing.

Could very well be that we might get a Sanders or Clinton...ever wonder why no mention of America in the end times in the Bible?  These 2 would reduce us down to a 3rd world nation.  I try not to get revved up on politics and realize the truth that it is God that has the final word, and sets one leader up and brings one down...hard to do sometimes. JMHO

I wouldn't surprise me. Biz has been vocal about not caring or following anything that doesn't directly impact him. He brought up very similar comments about the safe act because he didn't own or use anything that was in the law.

What is really interesting to me is the lack of discussion over state supreme court judges...yes not appointed, but voted in . They are of great importance to people and I feel under rated in the general political view of things :

I can't play much in the market. I work in the legal industry and it would be "insider trading", so I can only trade ETFs unless I jump thru a bunch of hoops to get approval to buy and/or sell actual stocks.

Like I said I'm more interested in news related to sports, business, local news, etc. the few hours in home at night before bed I watch ESPN or an outdoor channel, it's never cnn or msnbc or any of those types of channels.

On the train to and from work I surf ESPN, Instagram, this forum, and play some chess.
