Looking for two man treestand advise

I want to get a two man treestand for my daughter and me.  For those of you who have hunted deer with someone from a two man stand would you have any advice or recommendations?  I'm not made of money and I want to make a smart purchase.

I'm interested in the same thing. I bought a ameristep from Walmart yesterday and it is "ok" not the best quality but I'm going to get a few more Of different brands and figure out what I like and start replacing all my current ladders with them because my daughter is starting to really like it and she's getting too big to sit between my legs.

I've got 4 2-man stands, and added this one a month or two ago. Much more rigid than the other "bargain" ones I've bought.

You don't need to use the blind, but it comes with it. The blind is 2 piece (upper and lower). You don't have to have the upper attached.

Just and FYI   Youth hunters cannot be in an elevated stand/blind. Meaning 14 and 15 years old. Just don't want anyone getting in trouble for a stupid law.

They can during bow season.

And yes, its a dumb law. My daughter has been going up in stands with me for a few years now.

How in Gods name do they think you are supposed to teach your kids to hunt! Dumb laws abound!!!

I don't know about that .I think a good many of us learned from the ground, that said, your right dumb laws because I would DEFINITELY want to teach any child the SAFEST way to hunt from a stand and be clear in their instruction of safety harness. climbing tether and attachment once at platform as I went up with them on a youth hunt.

If you're interested in taking a little roadtrip, I'll give you one! I got a couple of years out of it with my kids, so I don't need it anymore. We had exciting times in it, so it would be nice to know that another father and daughter team would be enjoying it too. If you're interested, it looks like my camp is ~1hr 20 min from you (Pierrepont Manor in your profile?).

Funny to read this today, as I just gave another 2 man stand away last night to a guy with a young son.

Let me know.

I had a brand new Comfort Zone laying around in my garage for the last 4 years or so. Yesterday I finally got around to assembling it. I have a few of these out in the woods. I like to customize it by adding some pipe/foam insulation on the back rest and some on the guard rail to eliminate any metal to metal noise from laying the gun barrel on it. Their pretty good for the price. I believe I bought it at Dick's.

Guessing NY doesn't prosecute that often for a parent daring to let their kid climb into a tree stand :)

Theres no law against it. The law is that a 14 or 15 year old GUN hunter cannot HUNT from a treestand. Its perfectly legal for anyone to sit in a treestand, or for a hunter of any legal age (12 and up) to BOW hunt from a treestand.
