Documented " pass " bucks

I'm sure I can't be alone with cell pics of bucks I've passed, so I'd like to see what everybody else passes on, and shoots with a camera. And no, even if I go buck-less I won't regret any of them ! Trophy hunting ain't easy !

The guy on the first two pics wouldn't have gotten a pass from me. This is only my 2nd uear bowhunting and you don't see too many bigger deer around here in 4F. There are a few real bruisers around,but they didn't get big by being stupid.

This guy comes by me alot. He's real heavy too. I showed my father the pics and vids... He said it makes him sick to his stomach. Lol.

If you saw the 2 mature bucks on this property that I'm after you would understand why I let him roll on by

Cant say I would pass him while stalking but in a tree this guy was given a pass by my buddy this year and is off limits till next year if he makes it.

Must be nice, guys. I don't see a ton of whitetails and tough to get pics since I'm hunting from the ground. This year with first time blind maybe I can get some live pics.

Yea. that pic was night before the 10/1 opening day. I did see him again though, but passed. Forks weren't very deep, but still a very a nice Mulie. Big ole gut on him

iPhone 4S with a case over it takes horrible pictures.  also I usually practice coming to full draw on deer despite intending on giving them a pass.  I always have a tag for them, but finger is behind the trigger as an extra precaution.  sometimes more for will power failure than equipment failure.  the 8 pointer I passed was about the size of the 2nd buck picture at minimum.  studied him for a while too and was 2.5 yrs old all day long based on many body characteristics.

Tell your buddy I like his style ! Can u imagine if we all did that.... Wish there was a " bad Genetics " rule for those that love meat, and guys like me and him filling treestands. Ah well, argument for another day

He thought he was a two year old.  From the video, I would have guessed three, but whatever, its his tag and call.  I can't complain, he will be around the property we hunt for the future maybe.

Personally any 2 1/2 year old is fair game and gets no pass anywhere I hunt,, everyone has different property's and expectations, those posted bucks are some nice bucks IMO good on you guys ..

I passed on 4 pointer in Steuben because landowner had an 8 point restriction.

It's a good rule which allows NY bucks to get big which unfortunately is not followed too often. 

But if you are just hunting for the meat - you might disagree.

Passed 3 8 points last weekend, we have come to the consensus on our property that if it isn't a 10 it gets a pass.

So you go by number of tines vs. age.  I have never seen a buck with more than 9pts from the stand in this area.  And only a very few on cam.  That would be tough.  We hunt 8pter land around here.

No generally on our property by the time they are a 10 point they are 4.5 or 5.5 year old buck. We have one anomaly this year with a 2.5 year old being a heavy 8 point. If an 8 point at 3.5 he will be a monster by 4.5.

#1 is a phenomenal example of great genes. That dude will be a stud. Looks barely 2.5. If you could let him get 4 or 5....wow.

i could indefinitely pass those two..  but 130" are ripe for harvest IMO.  but i also have the worst poaching rebel neighbors in the state. my neighbor would put his sons tag on the first one his wifes tag on the second one then tag the 130" with his own.
