Big wet beaver

I've been itching to use that title for a long time now. 

Found this guy diving for branches down at the crick and enjoying a shore lunch. He's making a real mess in the creekbottom but I was glad to see him. I got to move in after he popped up through the same hole in the ice a couple times and dove back for more.

Just wish I coulda got that darn branch on the left outta the way.

Destructive .. yet constructive as well    remember..their decline years ago is what caused the decline of the moose population in NY as well.

I think it goes back to a little incident on Shitz Creek. The beavers damned it up and left the antlerless moose up it without their paddles.
