Rainy day, what to do?

Gun show in a Medina this weekend. Not sure if I'll go.......

Wife isn't feeling good today so I could be flying solo. One thing I need to do is go to Cabelas  as and get some new shoes. My daily wear Keen hikers have suddenly started to kill my feet. I'm kind of at a loss to explain WTH happened but it appears I need a size bigger.

I made a couple eggs for breakfast and slugged down to cups of Coffee, one load of darks is spinning in the wash machine and I'm almost done with the NYOutdoor news that came yesterday.  Oh and I already dropped of 10 pounds of venison to add to Taco Tim's 10 pounds he's taking to Bonds this morning for jalapeños hotdog fabrication.

Heck, I've been busy already. :)

Do you reload ? Organize the safe ? Indoor range to shoot at ? Maybe a good day for a nap ? Prep a nice dinner for the family for tonight ? Have a smoker ? Polish up barrel on turkey gun ?

I'd love to shoot the bow today ,the only range nearby is always booked with kids and leagues on Saturdays.

Niagara County Sportsman's Club (next to Bond's Lake) isn't crowded today....LOL.  I'm not there now but I'd bet you dollars to donuts that nobody's at the line today.  A recent addition is a covered shooting line to keep you dry when drawing a bead.

The rain got here after dark yesterday.  I split a bunch of next year's firewood (to sell) by hand, then watched TV.  It topped out at 68 degrees yesterday, and this morning there is a large flock of red-winged blackbirds on my front lawn.  I have always thought of them as a real sign of spring, not robins.  We have robins here all winter, and bluebirds in February every year.  There's a few snow flakes drifting down, and I'm happy to see winter temps.  I'm not ready for mud.  I guess I'm not big on change, but weather shifts like this make me nervous.  It's going to be hard on the trees that bud out.  I will probably split more wood today, and get my woodsplitter out of the barn for the crooked stuff.  Been helping my buddy with a logging job, and we could use 3 more weeks to get that cleaned up.  I'm sorry this doesn't answer what to do on a rainy day.  I'm just drinking coffee and thinking about the 40 degree temperature swing.

Thunderstorms yesterday...snowing and snow on the ground today....high 50's tomorrow and next day ...snow the 2 days after that.   We are on a weather roller coaster  I'm thinking it could end in one very bad extreme or another, such as huge Snow dump,or flooding rains. March is always a guessing game.

One of my buddies is hosting a poker game...

Nice modest game, quarter/half/dollar...

Basic stud and draw poker, no exotic crap and NO wild cards....

We play a lot of high/low and split pots to help move the money around..

Venison chili, beer,  venison bologna and summer sausage..   Life is GOOD...!!...
