But if I end up someplace we a sweet cliff to jump from, I'll be the first one to send it. I've been beaten and broken from over a decade of motocross so I know the risks, but that brief thrill is worth it. You really can't appreciate life until you do some stuff like that. Good thing we aren't all the same, otherwise it'd be awfully boring around here There's Wanatpallooza every year which is a huge get together of graduates of my HS. It's in rememberance of a gent I went to HS with who died jumping bikes off a cliff into the water . Lost another classmate just jumping into water at another spot. I can't swim so never have been tempted

It always sucks to lose friends to risky hobbies or activities. It's the unfortunate circle of life, but it does also make life worth living because it could possibly be so very short, at least that's how I try to look at it to rationalize the stupid stuff I do lol. NFA-ADK
Went to Haines falls many years ago with friends. My one friend had to go under the falls where is was steep and nothing to hold onto, this was very dangerous and the DEC officer said someone fell off the week before so he stopped all the stupidity thankfully! I think that was when I determined that messing with extremely high elevation was off my list plus I already jumped out of a good plane to try a static jump. That was fun until the shoot cord latched on my wrist and did not open up right away, fun times!

Do enough crazy things and your life will get cut short! Sometimes the adrenaline rush is fun but think before you do something crazy. Ask yourself this: If things go wrong with this, how bad can I get hurt, is death possible? Is this a smart thing to do or am I just trying to impress someone, is it worth killing myself over?

Adkhunter1590
I totally get what your saying, but I'm a firm believer in that there's just different kind of people who really view the purpose or reason of life in a totally different aspect. Honestly I would rather go out of this world doing something I love vs dying some slow painful death like cancer or something. I get where others think people like me are nuts, but to each his own right? But like I said before I've really mellowed out these days, I don't race anymore, hell I sold all my race bikes. Don't even have a sled anymore either. Just a atv that gets used more to ride my kids around and check trail cams more than anything.

Not many things duplicate the feeling of waiting for that gate to drop . It's also amazing that the feeling instantly goes away the second it does and you take off towards that first corner surrounded by bikes. There's a saying about tip toeing through life only to arrive at death safely.
phade
There is inherent risk in living, breathing, crossing the street. At some point, you have to choose to live. With that comes the chance for death, injury, or what have you. Then again, what life have you lived if you let fear run it? There's a different balance for everyone. I don't plan to ever jump out of a plane, but I've jumped some pretty awesome cliffs in Jamaica into the bluest Blue Mountain water I have ever seen.

He thought for a moment and said, "there are two things in life that I know are coming but I don't know when. The first is the strike of a trout and the second is death. And to be honest, Iad, I quite like the anticipation of each." I bought my first fly rod the next day. Up the Irish.
