fasteddie
I am still doing Real Estate Sign work ( INSTALLS AND REMOVALS) . As I drive around I am amazed at all the fields of corn . Field after field of corn crops . Did the farmers quit planting soy beans ? Maybe they are planting the corn to sell to the Ethanol Plants ............ The_Real_TCIII
Both my spots are surrounded by beans this year. I hate the bean years, deer don't seem to hit them during season but they stand out there every summer night to get seen by every hunter in the county lolSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nomad
Only a couple hundred acres on the farm I hunt , out of a few thousand they could plant , choose to file their crop insurance due to the wet weather . Should make an interesting hunt this year , luckily the farm just south of my thick stuff planted corn .

wolc123
The corn is looking good this year for sure. There is a lot less of it close by me than there was last year. That probably means that more coons will soon head for mine, and I will need to trap more of them, so that it lasts thru ML season. With all the rain we had this year, the corn that I planted on well-drained ground is looking the best it ever has (probably close to 200 bu/acre yield). That on the low ground is not looking so hot (maybe 50 - 75 bu/acre). A reversal of that during last years drought, when the low stuff did about 100 bu/acre and the well-drained stuff about 25 bu/acre.
