fasteddie
Has anyone used Trimmer String to alter the weight of their arrows ? I recall reading an article where they added weight to the arrows by cutting some Trimmer String , pulling off the nock and putting the Trimmer String inside . I have some carbon arrows that are 56 grains lighter than my hunting arrows . I will have to give it a try .
nybuckboy
I would check your FOC first. Then ad 50 gr weight on front and recheck FOC If less then 15% buy 50 gr weights and insert from nock end with glue on it with a coat hanger. biggamefish
I haven't personally but know a bunch of people who put string in the arrows to get more weight it works great. if you need the weight and don't want to put it at the end of your arrow
rob-c
3 rivers archery I believe has weight tubes that would give you a consistent weight. Only thing I would wonder with the string is at the initial release of the arrow would it get pushed to the back of the arrow causing wonky flight .
nyantler
I did it before I went to wooden arrows... easiest way to optimize arrow weight and distribute it evenly.
Doewhacker
I used lead sinkers, they are malleable enough to be made to fit snuggly. Once I got the shape I wanted I pushed them down from the nock end followed by a little plastic wading I made with glue on it. Works great, I had some that weighed 25 grains which was exactly what I wanted.
moog5050
I have heard the braided rope works better than trimmer line or is at least quieter but never used either.
fasteddie
I put a length of trimmer string in some practice arrows and each arrow weighs 435 grains . The trimmer string is the length of the arrows . The FOC of the arrows is 10.7 % . It will keep me occupied shooting them in the basement each day .
