You can't legally hunt deer with that one in NY.  It is only 11.3" wide uncocked, which is well short of the 17" legal minimum.

That is the ATA width.  I have no idea what the true width is, but it's kinda funny for you to point this out. :haha:

Besides, the budget isn't done yet and I have no clue what law changes may or may not happen.

I'm 99% certain this will be my next xbow.  Shot one yesterday with the Accu50 and it felt pretty good.  The new X4 is well-balanced, pretty light and priced great!  However, that price is kept down by using a trigger that seems more like a 5-6 lb pull than a 3.5 lb, a non-illuminated optic and a minimal 3 included bolts.  Also, I'm not sure if the rail uses the same pressed carbon as the TenPoints or not.

I was going to test fire an Eclipse RCX, but both xbows are very similar in size and shoot at 360 fps.  However, the Titan RCX package that uses an Eclipse RCX front end starts at $325 more than the WR X4; the Eclipse RCX itself is north of $1000.

I also wanted to test the new Shadow, but damned if I couldn't cock the thing!  Using a rope cocker, the pull weight at the top is very tough and the string surprisingly never engaged the safety for me.  I tried another rope with the same result.  It's my fault for not going to an archery specialist who would be much more familiar with this xbow as I had to be doing something wrong.  Suffice to say it's really nice, but probably should be packaged with either the Accu50 or new AccuPro crank.  I'll wait til NY drops the silly limb width law before spending over $1k on an xbow.

I have a Ten Point Titian “Extreme”? I believe.

Shot one buck with it. But I’m going on a bear trip this spring in Canada.

Hankering for an excuse to buy a better bow but I’m waiting to see if the laws change.

Stick with a legal bow. Never invite the man into your life.

Final answer: Wicked Ridge Warrior Ultra Lite.  Price was too good to pass up and it meets all of NY's random nonsense regs.  Also ordered a half dozen BEE's that I'll hunt with using either 100 gr Muzzy Trocars or Slick Tricks.  Hoping for an immediate return on investment this weekend!
