Daughters Oregon and Wash hikes

Each year her  and a freind go,out and visit friends there , and do some hikes in both states . She must have 100’s of pics , but only a few on FB where i grabbed these. 

Each time I express my displeasure at her to close to edges , she has to bring up our trip to,the Grand Canyon,like 15 years ago, where I pointed out the blocked off areas , I climbed out past in my youth .  What can I say she got me .

Awesome travels and pics!  Thank you for sharing!   Hiking out West looks so much different compared to the ADK's.  Both equally breathtaking in their own regards.

She does mostly well traveled trails, the thing Ive learned from her is that half the battle is the  roads to the trailhead .

Most say high clearance vehicles required , they had a Ford Focus.... that’s what happens when you don’t rent the car way ahead of time ,none left .

She uses Instagram for current updates of the roads, as folks post their hikes almost in real time. Many wash outs, pot holes, rocks ,loose gravel, some will be snow covered , wrong turns can lead to a narrow road you can’t turn around on .

They cancelled Kelly Butte in Wash. because of the road conditions , honestly I was glad of that.

And apparently one can just walk up to Elk, that’s annoying.
