Steuben Jerry
So I run over to the local Dunkin at lunch to buy a coffee. Girl at the window tells me the car ahead of me paid for mine. (this happened to me once before at a different Dunkin, but there was nobody behind me to return the favor to). So to pay it forward, I ask what did the car behind me order? She says same exact order as mine, so I pay for the car behind me. When I get back to work, I look at the receipt before tossing it in the trash, and I see that I got double charged! So, technically I didn't get a free coffee, and paid twice for one coffee? WTF? Oh well, good karma points for the slob buck I am shooting tomorrow afternoon. 8
ApexerER
My wife does that once in awhile at DD. I was thinking that was pretty nice. So I did it one morning, never asked what the person behind me ordered, just said I got the car behind me too. Hand her my credit card and as I am driving away I look at the receipt and the bill was almost 30 bucks. Breakfast sandwiches, a dozen donuts etc. I was thinking no good deed goes unpunished. A few weeks later I had somebody in front of me pay for my coffee and I was thinking, damn, should have ordered more...lol So I paid for the car behind me, this time I will admit I looked in the rearview mirror to see only one person before I offered though....
Jeremy K
I had a car of kids pay for my stuff at mighty taco once ,completely took me off guard. I asked the girl working if I was supposed to pay for the next car and she just laughed and told me no.

I've heard of this so that's why I asked about what they ordered!
Moho81
I’ve done it a couple of times. Once was when a friend of mine was behind me by chance. My wife one time got her order paid for by the car in front of her. Her order was around $50 because she not only had her coffee but a few gift cards for the kids teachers. Hunter007
I had the car in front of me pay my toll on gw bridge one time I guess just because I let him cut in front of me .
Nomad
Makes no sense to me if everybody buys the guys behind them , just buy your own . Now I have paid for diner for a group of Coast Guard folks, and I overheard a conversation between a young man and his Mom and a bar, he was shipping out soon it seemed, I paid my tab and theirs on the condition the barmaid didn’t say anything till I was gone . But the whole line thing I’m not big on .

Daveboone
Call me a curmudgeon, but.... Someone paid for me a couple years ago around xmas, cool, I thought it was nice. Then I started to think about it, and I wonder what the hell? Anyone eating at (fill in the blank) obviously can afford to, and is going to. Not going hungry. So "Paying it forward" doesn't accomplish a darn thing. Order an extra lunch at Mickie Ds and give it to the guy on the corner with a cup....different story.

You asked for it!It’s not meant to cure hunger but give someone a good feeling as you are rewarded with a good feeling of doing something good for someone. Ever find $5 in a pocket of an old coat??? Same idea! You are not retiring as a result of your find but sure does feel like a nice find! For what it’s worth, I buy scratch off or power balls with found coat pocket money in hopes of retiring as a result!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why? You only work maybe 9 months a year and get Summers and practically every holiday known to man off. You're already in retirementSent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

If they are anything like I used to be as a kid you would go straight to retirement after the first weekSent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
