Ever shot any sitting on the ground with a crossbow

I have a pc of woods I’d like to hunt but don’t have a stand .

it’s a 5 acre triangle of woods with open hay field on one side , a trout stream and scrub on the other side,,

not too confident sitting on the ground or a stool ...

ever had success that way ?

Not this year ,,, no stand , no ground blind

Just put your back to a big wide tree. Or find a blow down and get in there. A large rock, or throw together some stuff found lying on the ground to make a blind. I've killed a bunch of deer from the ground with my bow. Crossbow is even a little less difficult.

I went over today, right on the point of the triangle of trees is a trail going across to the hay field on the right of my pic 

there is a clump tree 10 ft from the trail I could tuck into but it’s awful close to the trail ..

there isn’t really a good spot to even put a stand and be able to see much

Also killed 3 from the ground with my xbow.  Two were taken from patches of honeysuckle.  I put my back against a small tree and cut a hole to sit in/shoot out.  Good to go.

Every deer I've killed with a crossbow was sitting down.  I use a heavy duty lawn chair in my ground blind.  I turn the chair slightly then I use the cup holder on the arm as a rest.

Yes. Back against a hillside, rock, rock wall, tree, blowdown, etc. or you can the reverse and sit behind a blowdown, rock wall, etc. it's the most fun way to hunt IMO.

I almost did it this morning. Sat down on the ground near some rubs, and a baby buck comes walking toward me 15 yards away. Stopped and stared at me and tried to walk even closer before deciding it was a bad idea.

Shot many deer sitting on the ground with a shotgun or rifle, never with a crossbow (only have hunted 3 years with a crossbow), Probably 1/3 of the ones I shot could have been shot with a crossbow-40 yards or less.

Ground works great on good wind

Never did it myself but I would be sitting at the base of a large tree , tree at my back !
