11/20/21: 20th sit of season for me. Hunted 3N with my Dad. Shotgun county. Today was his 55th straight opening day, never missed one. And 54th anniversary to the exact day of his first ever buck. I

11/2: hunted 3N 4pm - dark tonight. No deer seen hunting but saw a huge Tom Turkey at 5pm with long thick rope beard. Then as I pulled truck out to go home saw a 6pt. I think the one I saw the other day hunting.

Anyway, the wide 7pt was on another cam 400yds from cell cam on 10/31 midday. Tons of rubs in this spot

11/3: Hunted 3S this morning. At 745am a 6pt came in. One I have several pics of. He’s a 1.5 so I let him walk at 30 yards. Just as he got out of sight, a doe popped up and the 6pt came back. He chased her around a little bit then they both waded through the swamp and he chased her out of sight.

Then at 9am a red fox came by. I drew twice and let down. It wouldn’t stop moving and it was smaller than some bigger ones I’ve seen so I was gonna let it go but then it stopped so I shot at 30yds. Arrow stuck into tree with lighted nock. Fox walked off slowly, so thought maybe I missed. But it quickly bedded down. Head was up but bedded. There was no way to take another shot and I didn’t want to stalj and push it. So I planned to wait and see what happened.

Then I saw the deer again at 945. The same 6pt came through chasing the doe. In the commotion of watching them, the fox must have gotten up and moved. At 11am I went to arrow and found blood and saw fox bedded up on a hill. So I backed out. No way to get close enough for a shot and weird angle.

Went back into the woods around 3pm and recovered the fox on the edge of a swamp. Shot was solid. 30yds through high shoulder and out the guts. Then I got back into my deer spot and saw a doe from 525pm - 537pm grazing but no bucks before dark.

Cam-wise, All 3 shooter bucks here since Friday when I hunted last here. The chocolate 8pt, wide 8pt and Crabclaw 10pt. Also a cool hawk pic (I think)

11/5: quick 3S hunt this morning before. Cold & foggy but no deer seen.

Crabclaw 10 was here last night. All the other days he was between one and two in the morning but last night 925pm, so maybe something is changing.

11/7: dad hunted dark to dark in 3N and saw no deer again.

I hunted 3G-Dutchess in the morning and saw 2 fawns. Checked the cam for first time since 10/19 when I hunted there last and not very promising. Still the nice 9pt but rarely and night. The 6pt is small and not much deer sign.

Then I hunted 3N in PM and saw no deer. 3G pics below and then 3N a few pics including the same wide 7pt.

11/8: I didn’t hunt but dad went dark to dark in 3N for 3rd straight day. At 8am he saw a 4 or 6pt about 75 yards. At sunset 445pm he shot a nice buck.

After not seeing anymore deer after the 4/6pt this Morning, He found a spot a few hundred yards away on the ground sitting against an oak tree. At sunset the nice buck appeared. Quartering towards him at 25-30yds. He never heard the deer coming because he is very hard of hearing. Because He was was on the ground he was actually looking up at the buck. As he slowly raised the xbow the book turned broadside. He shot behind the shoulder and the lumenok disappeared at impact. The buck trotted (not ran) over the next hill. He waited 30 minutes. No hair found, no bolt but pitch black. He said he shot it on buck’s left side, and blood was on right side as well on track so sounds good for complete pass through. He said it was a wide rack and didn’t look symmetrical so I’m guessing wide 7pt. I tried to talk him into going back tonight but he wants to be extra safe and wait for morning. Roughly 900yds from the car and down steep terrain so all uphill to get it out and not accessible by atv. So he’ll start at 7am tomorrow and I’ll meet him at 830am. He had a clean exit away from buck direction and waved to my cell cam on the way out lol.

Recovered this morning about 130yds down hill. Found bolt about 100yds into track. Barely any blood. Entry but no exit. Spike was on cam 7min before dad and then he saw a 6pt, which later came by the scrape as well.
