I would say both were pretty well versed in their era and Clint had the benefit of more mature production capability than Wayne.  I'm not choosing.  I just know when all else is crap on TV, stream one of these guys.

One of my favorite westerns - Liberty Valance, and one of my favorite scenes... John Wayne or Clint Eastwood?  I'd probably lean toward Clint.  Probably my favorite would be Jimmy Stewart- what a life he lived.  If you're not familiar, read his bio. Great actor, decorated WW2 war hero.
