Trouble finding Turkey Shot

I'm having trouble finding turkey shot. I called a dozen places today and everywhere seems to be out of 4-6, 3". 

I'm planning on turkey hunting for the first time this weekend. I figured I could pick some up some ammo on my way upstate, but now I'm beginning to think that might not be so easy. 

If anyone has any idea where I can find some ammo, it would be greatly appreciated.

Oh boy, I was in your shoes a few weeks ago. A forum member stepped up and sold me some turkey loads for a great price. Hopefully you have the same luck.

ive looked all over nada in cny,  and even on-line nada, you may have to use any shot shell you can find maybe a waterfowl load but finding an actual turkey load will be tuff and very lucky keep your shots within in 30yards and any shot will actally do the job imo, lots of birds have been killed with plain old 2 3/4 upland bird loads

Yeah I think I'm going to have to broaden my scope.

On Friday 4/23/21, Dick's in Oneonta had Winchester Longbeard XR's in 3". Also Federal Heavyweight TSS in 3 1/2 ( 5 for $65).

Give losies gun shop or sportsman’s adventures gun shop in Oneonta a call . You may be able to pay over the phone and pick up when you get here. Both are on the south side of Oneonta.

Gunners dream in sidney I was told has some left atleast in 20 and RJW gun shop in greene I was told had a bunch.  I know the only thing mayhoods has in 20 is 5 for $52 but I didnt ask about 12 gauge.

Idk what is out that way, but ammo is starting to hit the shelves more regularly now.. If closer Id let you have a few shells. Good luck, Turkey hunting is awesome as long as you have birds in the area..

There is nothing wrong with most heavy shot for turkey you don’t need a special load I have taken them with my grandfather’s 1100 with a straight load of 5s

Sportsman’s warehouse in Elmira had 12 gauge 3” and 3.5” Federal TSS last weekend. They also had 20 gauge 3” Federal TSS.

Was just at Cabelas in Cheektowaga.....they had 20+ boxes of 12 ga. Winchester double x if anyone is still looking for Turkey loads.

Oneonta Walmart only has 3 1/2 “ turkloads left maybe 10 boxes. Last night when I was passing through. I  was looking for 3 inch 20 gauge magnum loads for my son . nothing there like that .   I may have to break open a 50 year old box of Hawkins 20 gauge from the closet .

Hey all,

I would up finding some remington 3" #4 at Davis Sport Shooting. Thanks for the help, much appreciated. Did some good scouting today and looking forward to tomorrow AM.
