Private companies executive pay has nothing to do with our economy.. It's purely sour grapes. What publicly traded companies pay their executives is up to the board, and to a larger extent their share holders... Remember the American people own these big companies through stock... If shareholders actually gave a shit what the CEO made, they'd sell the stock if they disagreed with it (reference Rite AId).. The executive pay bullshit is propaganda rhetoric coming out of the White House, to try and create class warfare, with the end goal of expanding government, and turning our Limited government into a socialist style European government. (which if you read the news isn't really all that exciting is it?) Turn off MSNBC and do some reading

It absolutely matters what happened. Though it's sad and the dead are to be mourned, unless you want to see it happen again, you better find out what happened. Things like this don't happen unless something wasn't done right. If safety laws were ignored, someone has to set up as an example.

You're right Skillet, I was not referring to the state workers , but rather the 500 plus members of Congress that actually are not needed in this day and age.

Com'on Woofer, that's a little harsh. All that junk about the average state worker making $60,000 is just that - junk. Go to www.seethroughny.net You'll see the problem. I have no problem with a productive CEO making a good buck, it's the overpaid slugs who drive me nuts. The state is no different than a private sector company, we have a bunch of worthless engineers, etc. who are bringing down over $90,000, while highway workers like me make around $30,000 (which is a fair wage, I'm not whining), and earn every dollar. Seriously, you can go on that site, type in my name and pull up my earnings history for the past 4 years.

When a Dad can go with his kid on POSTED property and throw caution to the wind , what is he teaching the kid ? Gee Billy-Bob , isn't nature beautiful .... Actually these days almost all of the rifle hunters I know are ALSO bow hunters. One of the big reasons I am for crossbows (even though I don't personally want one) is that I am sick of the dorks who aren't willing to do the necessary practice, stumbling around the woods with vertical bows that do take skill. If some of them would take up crossbows we'd all be better off.

Hmmmmm, I see that some of the people in this thread talking about stringing someone up for trespassing are the same ones that said or insinuated that baiting wasnt a big deal, and that the offender should'nt be called out for it just a couple of weeks ago. Funny. Bash away....

I get quite a bit of it on my windshield when I drive down the road, but I never looked at it as something to quench my thirst. But anyway, that's one way of making it.

I absolutely hate trespassers. I have had experiences with horseback riders mucking up some huge ankle-twisting paths across our property. And of course there was the little gifts left behind by the horses to step in. They even cut some brush for access and strung surveyor's tape along the way. I guess that was so that the idiots wouldn't get lost ..... lol. Then there was the kids with the dirt bikes ripping up and down the hill ..... again with the destructive trails. And the people that decided my land would be a nice place to camp on (building fires and cutting trees, etc.). No ATVs yet ..... that's probably yet to come. I have been on the property for most of my life, so I have seen it all. I have a lot more problems with these kinds of people that think I bought the land for their use than I ever have had with hunters. Maybe some day I can find out where some of these jerks live and I can go and pitch a tent on their lawn. Or hack a trail across their yard with a dirt bike. I wonder how they would feel about that.....lol.

I never complain about another man making more money than me. It means there is oppertunity for me to rise higher. If I take everybody else down to my level there is no up for me to aspire to. The higher up the other guy is the higher up me or mine can go. Thats the difference between a bad country and a great one. A bad one wants to bring everyone DOWN to the same level and a great one wants oppertunity for all to rise UP.
